Loads of strawberries, just pigged out on a big bowl of them with black pepper and good balsamic vinegar. Three pounds of blackcurrants in the fridge waiting to be made into jam. Been eating new potatoes for the last week or two. Loads of raspberries ripe, morello cherries nearly ready. Plums and apples coming on well. Lots of rhubarb. First courgettes nearly ready. Tomatoes flowering. Carrots virtually failed. Lettuce and cabbage going a bit feral.

Only these at the moment - wild strawberries:

The fruits are tiny, but their flavour is so intense you only need one to infuse a fruit salad (or a bottle of champagne).
We've got those self seeding in the cracks in the patio. I've boiled some up with cider vinegar and sugar and a sprig of mint to make a really good strawberry vinegar.

Indeed hehe

Should probably take the flagstones up and relocate the plants to the strawberry bed, but I'm just enjoying the free berries for now.

First cucumber of the year (one of many I'm sure). I've added it to a Hendrick's g & t:

escargot
