I think im going too have a look at le creuset then, Ive had to throw away all my pans, a 5yo tefal set

I really liked the red spot wok (but not for stirfrys, just using as a frying pan) so ive replaced that for the moment, im going to get a steel wok from the chinese supermarket (i used to have one, but the handle fell off & it wasnt big enough) and then perhaps a couple of le creuset pans and a le creuset griddle.

Oh and another question is teflon poisonous as the wok i was using seemed to be losing the teflon coating...

Buy a proper wok and make sure you season it first with oil and never wash it - just wipe clean with kitchen towel.

Yes, I have one of their frying pans - around 12" diameter.

For some things it is really very good. If you want to fry something with very little or no oil at a high temperature and then put it in the oven to finish off, then it's brilliant. And cleaning it up after is a 10 second job. The non-stick coating is pretty durable but there are a few marks on mine and I do try and be careful not to use metal utensils with it just in case.

I'd definitely recommend buying one to try if you're considering a pan like this.

I'd have bought more myself, but we've already got more 'blacks' than we can use and I still think basic blue steel or iron pans are the most durable and useful all round pans.

+1 have had ours for 15yrs and still the same as the day that we bought them, they just never mark and they are used virtually daily.

Go for it, we're very happy with ours. We got a set of 6 pans as a wedding gift and then added to them. Top quality stuff.

I needs some new pans, what brands do you guys use?

I have an electric hob (which i hate, would much prefer gas)
If you hate the electric, swap it for induction. So much better than gas!

Did you read the bit that says
"For every £20 spent in-store customers will receive one saver stamp and when they have enough, they can buy Fissler Cookware items from £11.06 or Thomas Rosenthal knives from £1.99." ?

Cunningly - they don't state how may stamps are required to get the discount...
