Salads...mmm... how about a really good Salad Nicoise with rare char grilled tuna steak and soft quails eggs. Costs about 50p more per portion than the run of the mill tinned tuna and hens eggs but it makes £10 difference :-)
Oh yes. yes

A delight.

Aubergine Pasta

1 aubergine, 1cm cubed coat / fry in some olive oil for 7-8min
Add 1 finely sliced onion & some garlic
Cook until they have some colour
Then add 2 cans of good chopped tomatoes, 1 tbsp of balsamic vinegar, some finely chopped basil stalks and a bit of chili
cook for 15min - put the pasta on.
5 min from end add in 4 tbsp of yogurt(I use Greek, .. or cream)

When done mix the sauce into the pasta, then tear in some basil leaves.

Last bit - tear up some cow mozzarella balls, stir and serve

mmmmm tasty.

Agreed. But I'd ditch the quail eggs. They look pretyt but are FAR too fiddly for my liking. I'll do them to impress. For weekday food, stick with hens...

Hob cooking, and this is just from my list of meals for the family during the working week, you would need the recipes although a quick google on most of the below should bring up various receipes - so how about:

Sausages and mash, onion/red wine and red onion/red onion marmalade jus/gravy/sauce
Gammon/Ham (on the bone), eggs and chips (pineapple ring for that 70's feel!)
Sausage/Chorizo, pasta (add tom's, red wine, paprika, black olives, onions, basil etc.)
Steak and (blue cheese sauce, romesco sauce, peppercorn sauce) with sauted potatoes, spinach
Omelette with (ham, bacon, mushrooms, peppers, onions, chilli's etc.)
Diced chicken breast, pasta, numerous possible sauces - arribiata, red wine, mushrooms, cream, brandy, etc.
Spaghetti Carbonara
Meatballs, with (red wine, passata, single cream, chilli powder, worcester sauce, sugar) sauce, taglitelle
Risotto's - mushrooms/asparagus/spring veg/chicken/ham/bacon etc.
Potato and leek soup with smoked bacon
Carrot and Coriandor Soup
French Onion soup with guyere croutons
Pork Chops with balsamic vinegar, black olives, mustard, with olive oil mash
Chilli Con Carne - mince, onion, cumin, coriander, tin of toms, garlic puree, 70% cocoa chocolate, mixed beans i.e. blackeyed, harricott, borlotti or whatever, beef stock, cornflour if it all gets too loose wink

Could go on an on, but hope it provides some ideas.

four rings? bloody luxury!

you can make most things on a hob, I had all my meals from a single camping burner for the first year living in this house.
