There was a TV Programme about this wasn't there. Cant remember who presented it but he spend a week or a month or somthing of eating food that was past it's best before date, some of it by weeks. Had no ill effects.

On that note the sachets purchased for our work coffee machine last year had a best before date of 2020. Now they have rebranded and the new ones have a best before date of next year. Seems like marketing to me.

Are PHers lacking in such fundamental life skills that they need to post about these things?

Do you need us to tell you what to wear while you cook them? Perhaps a different outfit for when you are eating them? (No short sleeved shirts btw).

I over bought some of those "good bacteria" yoghurt drink things a while back and promptly went off them - decided that I ought to use them and they still tasted fine even when 2 weeks past their "use by date".

On the other hand, on my desk at work I've got about a quarter of a jar of "Guinness Marmite" - still tastes great. Even though it's nearly 2 years out of date....

And hey, if I'm wrong, easy few days off work!
There's always a bright side hehe
Even brighter side, good diet system as well.... I once got a lovely bought of food poisoning and lost nearly a stone in two weeks. Took me quite a few pizzas to make up for it....

Why all the date comments - he said the fridge went off?

Anyway, surely if they were done on the barbecue in the traditional style - 3 seconds per side on mega heat - they'd be fine. smile

Cow germs breed on the outside, so touching the burgers may give you mad-cow disease tongue out

They'll be fine, one day is pretty irrelevant, just cook them well if you're in any doubt.

anything that passed its date yesterday is perfectly edible, and far from 'off'
