I'm going through a phase (which I frequently do) of drinking Wheat / Blond beers, I always seem to try the same mainstream ones like Leffe, Hoegaarden, erdinger, duvel etc.

I'm thinking of ordering some I haven't tried from a specialist, can anybody recommend any?

Not really bothered about price, quality is more important.

Cheers

Best wheat beer I've got in the UK is off tap in Sam Smiths pubs.

Used to be called Ayingerbräu Hefe Weiss but just called "Wheat Beer" now.

My local sells something called Blanche de Bruxelles

Not tried it, but the landlord also does Chimay, Duvel, Piraat, Erdinger Weiss, Erdinger Dunkel, and Leifmans. So I suspect it's pretty good.

Try St Austell Clouded Yellow, if you can find it where you live, for an interesting take on wheat beer. It's a little different to the continental ones, but still has the same refreshing qualities. Normally have a few hanging around for the right occasion. biggrin

Another good British Wheat Beer -

Fantastic example of the style. One of the very best of my locally located breweries too!

ETA - I remember this one being quite nice when i tried it in a nearby pub too -

Was in our local Waitrose yesterday and sitting next to the Erdinger was 'Weihenstephan Hefe Weissbier'. It's in Roger Protz's 300 beers to try before you die, which sounds like a nice challenge. I'd certainly get it again...

Bought a couple of these the other day from Tesco's. Will let you know what they are like as I'm drinking them tonight.

The Weihenstephan was very good but I wouldn't want to drink too many of them in one session. beer

Bruges Zot Blonde. Very easy to drink. Can be bought here

There are loads of great beers on that site, have a dig around.
