I would have thought they would put a limit on it so you could only finish it once. You'd have thought that. Basingstoke have let me do it three times!! Over about two years though, different staff etc.

I sort of do too, not sure I can really justify paying £50 for what is probably a bit of a s t steak, especially when Wagamama is just around the corner and £50 buys a lot of duck gyoza's, chilli squid and Tiger beer.

Nom nom nom but don't forget Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. Some of the BBQ places on that make me so envious that we don't have a similar restaurant culture in UK.

Have been watching quite a bit of this, and it always makes me really jealous that we don't have the same kind of burger/BBQ restaurant culture. I'd love it if I had places like that near me, I wonder why we don't? I can't watch too much of it in one go though, the crowds get right on my boobs. Whooping and cheering constantly, chanting U.S.A etc gets a bit much.

I'd love it if I had places like that near me, I wonder why we don't? Agree 100%. I love eating in a whole variety of places when I'm in the US, from the 'posh' places right down to finding the grotty diners that all the locals love that serve amazing burgers/ribs etc. It irritates me that we don't have similar places here. Restaurants over here consist of either expensive 'a la carte', distinctly average chain restaurant, or pubs, most of which have either shut or turned 'gastro pub'... So a la carte again. Now, these are all good, but why don't we have greasy bar/diner places that serve a heap of chips, ribs and wings, with a beer all home cooked to perfection for £7 or suchlike? The best place by a mile up this end of the country is the OK Diner, which really does serve up a home made heap of American ribs, wings, burgers, ice creams, waffles and milkshakes for a cheap price. Better still, all the 'Rods from the north east meet there! There simply aren't enough of these sort of places where you can have a laugh, a feast and a beer without having to dress properly...

Diners are great. but lets not get too misty eyed - America is a huge place and a lot of it is a culinary desert, with the same 10 fast food chains replicated in every town. Two words: Olive Garden

Two words: Olive Garden I quite agree on the food chains thing, America has then as bad if not worse than we do, but I always try and root out the local places that serve up the good stuff. It's always worth asking the locals and venturing off the beaten track
