An advantage of being in Aus where most of the population are "pale face". Bugs have been harvested or 1000s of years though.
I remember when I went to the Central Market in Adelaide a few years ago - I was damn drooling over the selections of meats/pies/veggies and things there - going back in April for 2 weeks, so looking forward to it.

I last came away with a 2kg tuna, a 2.5kg bream, 1kg tiger prawns and 1.5kg of monster prawns (all 4 of them!) for about 30 of your British Pounds.

Are you coming to teach them about overfishing? I think someone might need to, soon....
Not this time - I have a friend with a fish processing business that supplies some of the top hotels, eateries, etc and I help put him through the DM food hygiene audit every year. Am looking for more clients and have a few extra days this year to try and make some more contacts. smile

UAE have recently passed a proclamation regarding size limits for 15 threatened species, but fish conservation isn't particularly high on their agenda, I'm afraid. Perhaps I need to be talking to the ministry?!

Your bream was a sharri? (see pic below taken in friend's factory) Very underrated in my opinion.

Also love Hamour, but stocks have been hammered;

Look very much like the Aussie bugs. 1.5 kg would be 3.3lb assuming the french kg to english lb (different for our US cousins though). Either way misses the 30lb mark.
Think you'll find he's talking about £30 sterling equivalent, not 30lb in weight!
