Ok, after a quick discussion between TomE and myself, we have decided on the two ingredients for the next round.

They are :

Duck and Egg

BOTH ingredients should be used in your dish... it's not a choice between the two!

We think there's a good range of things that can be done with duck, and of course eggs can be used in many, many ways, so get inventive! Combine the two, accompany one with the other... or I suppose you could kill two birds with one stone and just do a duck egg...!

Oh yes... and please note that "egg" is not restricted to hens/ducks, which should really open things up smile

Usual rules, three photos max. Entries should be in by the end of Monday April 4th (so you have two full weekends), and voting will run from the Tuesday until midnight on Friday.

To be honest I am not a fan of these two ingredients comps which is why I skipped a lot of the early rounds. I prefer one ingredient and play around with that.

Egg is an easy one though, as so many things contain egg already... pasta/noodles for example.

Yeah, our feeling was that the egg could easily be incorporated without actually being a singular entity. As Calibrax says, it's easy to count it by using pasta or various sauces etc.

I see what you are both saying, maybe im not thinking lateraly. Quick Google just throws up things with duck eggs. Maybe more thought needed

Racking my brains for "egg and meat", Patithier with an egg wash? Crispy duck with egg fried rice? Souffle? quiche? Omlette? Choux buns?

Suggestions?

Oooh, loads of possibilities here. Unfortunately no Duck eggs available but at least ducks are!

I'm not sure there will be too many entries but I'm sure what does get posted will be of a very high standard.

Good luck everyone!

I'm moving to Seattle to give myself a couple more hours to get sorted smile

I assume that would be Tuesday 5th at 09:00 AEST for me then (allowing for change of UK to BST and loss of summer time in NSW). Or have I still got to post by Midnight on the 4th ?

worked out a recipe yesterday. The problem now is finding some duck at a reasonable price - $38/kg seems a bit steep for supermarket quality.
