Love the original but this is a great version of the song. Forgot really how good a voice has Sonya Madan

Any Bob Dylan song by almost anyone else......
I like that!Still like Lay Lady Lay by him though.
There was guitar duo in Oxford who had gigs regularly in the county in the early 70s, called Sunfly.
They were good. But their rendition of 'Knockin' on Heaven's Door' was just sublime, that good they could have recorded it.
Every time they appeared it was the one song that got requested again and again.
Best rendition of it I'd heard then, and since.
I used to have it recorded on cassette(!) - but bloody left it in a car I sold.
Pissed me off no end when I contacted the buyer and he said, 'Oh I did see that in the player, sorry mate it went in the bin.'
Could really p*ss off some U2/indie fans but then music is what it is ..

Pretty average I thought. Not horrible, just a soft rock version of the original...https://youtu.be/epWSITIDQW0
Whilst on the subject of U2 I have to say their version of "All Along The Watchtower" (from Rattle and Hum) is my favourite.
I believe there are some other quite well regarded versions though, so I'm sure that'll upset as many people as Dinlowgoon fears he did!

Heard it while watching the film High Rise recently and made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

Simon & Garfunkel's 'Sound of Silence' as performed by Disturbed. Always liked this song, and whilst I'm not a fan of this band, this is something else and has been in my head for weeks - A wonderful version that gives me goosebumps every time I hear it...

totally this.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bk7RVw3I8eg&li...
This song has a special resonance to me, i first heard the disturbed version when my mom was going through the final stages of her cancer and the power and emotion of the song hit me like a sledgehammer.
I don't generally attribute feeling/emotion to songs and my taste is usually fairly mainstream. but with this song, i well up every single time i listen to it. I'm bubbling up now writing about it...
the original is a plink te plonk pastiche of the cover, IMO, which is unusual.
How about The Beatles 'She Said She Said' given the heavy/prog rock treatment ("and why not" as the deceased film buff might never have said) -

- best Welsh band to have rocked in the seventies, Lonestar, (the band that punk killed at birth).

Cash remade it so well trent said its not my song anymore. That is was recorded in hia dying months only makes the words more poignant
Still prefer the NIN version especially the live version on Further Down The Spiral.Cash remade it so well trent said its not my song anymore. That is was recorded in hia dying months only makes the words more poignant
