Great call on the FLC track, long time fan and loved the Mimosa album.

I think I've posted the Climax Blues Band cover already but what the heck - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_l4LNLcktQY

I really don't like The Beatles at all, so it's a bit of a foregone conclusion that I think that this is better than the original:

Coroner - I Want You

ETA: I mentioned this on the 17th of May.

Boom!

Done!

Etc!

The one for me at the minute is Delilah, Go

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxNe9jWNuEU

cant get enough of it, but i love voclas like this, and the subteltly of the music in the background aswell, first time i heard it i had to sit in the car for 10 minutes to find out who it was in order to find it, wasnt the greatest of excuses for being late for work but who cares

I think I posted that a few weeks back? Yes, it really grew on me although I'm not sure if it is really a cover or not.

Mark Lanegan - where did you sleep last night (can't find studio version on YT)
Looking again, I found this straight away, oddly.

People may be aware of the Nirvana cover off Unplugged. But Kurt Cobain did this first in c.1990 with Mark Lanegan (KC's singing the backing vocals here).

KC and ML were going to record an acoustic album together but only got two tracks recorded, so ML continued on his own and the tracks appeared on his first solo album.

I have a list of these somewhere ...

Madness have already been mentioned
Sunday morning - Strawberry switchblade
Tainted Love - Soft Cell
Platinum IV - Mike Oldfield (the original is called North Star and was composed by Philip Glass)
Can't help falling in love with you - Lick the tins

Walk on by - The Stranglers. Excellent (especially the exuberant instrumental break in the middle) and well worth finding on youtube if you aren't familiar with it, but not better than Dionne Warwick's original recording.
