I'm listening to Sunday Night Music Club on Absolute which is featuring Rag n Bone Man. Who I'd heard of, but never heard, before, and I'm liking it a lot.

They were playing I'm only Human just now and it immediately reminded me of Gil Scott Heron.

Interesting stripped-down version. As someone who was around when he first appeared, I have to say he just gets better and better with age.

Edited the clip as the link started half way through!

Anyway, yes, I think one of the comments says it all on this one..

"how many times do you gamely watch a recent performance by an old hero only to come away disappointed and saddened by the ravages of time? This is completely the opposite"

Hugh Laurie - Swanee River. After catching up on the House series, I thought I'd try some of HL's music. If I could boogie on a piano as well as that, with a whisky sat atop the piano in my local, I think that would be it for me. smile

I've had the Stones Roses I am the resurrection Jon Carter remix on loop for most of the day.
Sounds like a bit of dee lite drums mixed in there, do you think?:

Also got this last week:

Abbey road half speed remaster

The half speed master really shines, I have just about every version of live at leeds on various format, but none sound like this. Awesome.

Went to see him with the family last September on the "nostalgia" tour. The set consisted entirely of songs from Replicas, TPP and Telekon, with a couple of encores from the first album; stunning show, great songs, even now.

Replicas is a timeless classic.
