Nostalgic old git alert......

Today, I dug out an old Comsat Angels LP and stuck it on full volume

For too many years
This place has had it's day
Now it's time to leave
If we don't go soon
We might stay forever
Gotta get out....out ...... out of here"

The Black Keys - Turn Blue. Bought this last yr and didn't even open it until today! Played it through a few times, and whilst there aren't any really stand out tracks, it's really very good. Definitely not as rocky and uptempo as El Camino, but I like it!

Seriously thanks smile om my tenth listen now - I love it.

Would you take a take a quick listen to some of the early RDF stuff?

Just can't beat a bit of proper dub-punk.

Gave it a whirl but really not my bag. Can see where the 'Mods got their influence though!

hehe

I think all you have to agree is that the main difference is one band are playing it live with real instruments, the other have sat in their bedroom wink and put together something equally as good. When it comes to being out at a live gig I'd rather watch people playing instruments on stage. All because you get those little nuances from a live band that you don't quite get from a cassette band.

But hey, I really enjoyed that Sleaford Mods link, wish I'd made a copy because that link is lost now frown

Great stuff - please continue to post up these sort of links - it's good to share. I'm just playing the RDF link again - brings back so many memories of touring up and down the country in a little Vauxhall Astra with a lovely (long lost now) girlfriend. biggrin

I'm a big Neil Young fan, but I also like a bit of mellow 'Cafe del Mar' style dance tunes, amidst a fairly eclectic range of tastes.

This makes me want to be on a beach in Ibiza downing a large cold beer at sundown, very chilled.

I've added it to my music on my free Apple Music trial. I'll give it a go later. I donwloaded Holy fire and wasn't blown away but got fixated on the track Late Night. Played that a few times on repeat and I don't normally do that anymore.
