You can add the original line up of New Order to that list.

A couple of others....

The Stone Roses - there have been a few rumours recently that Ian Brown's sking, but I still don't see it happening.

Ride - Mark Gardener and Andy Bell's relationship being the reason why. Missed seeing them, would love to be proved wrong!
Ha ha!! Happy to say that both have reformed and I've seen both of them multiple times. , laughcool

The Inland Revenue and divorce lawyers are excellent at helping bands resolve their "musical differences".

I bumped into Ian Brown in Notting Hill in 2010(I had to look it up..) and had a chat to him. I asked what he was doing around there and he said that he was visiting his son...and that he'd recently got divorced.

He looked bummed, genuinely upset just saying it. I remember instinctively patting him on the shoulder just after he said it.

And then 7 or 8 months later they announced that The Stone Roses would play together again...;)

Rush
Porcupine Tree

- my two favourite bands, but unlike many on this list, they seem to have split amicably.

ELO are a bit of an oddity on this subject.

Although they went through a few ins and outs, most would consider the band as it was to have comprised, Lynne, Bevan, Kaminsky, Groucutt (sadly now no longer with us), Gayle, Tandy and Gaynor

I've twice seen ELO2 which consisted of all the above minus Lynne and Tandy which oddly is more aligned to the original line up than current 'official' ELO that only has Lynne and Tandy from the original line up.

I know it's Jeff Lynne's 'project' and always has been but would be good to see the others on stage too.

I believe there was a major rift between Lynne and the others way back which has yet to be healed so unlikely I guess.

Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac - all still alive (some more than others sadly).

Simon Dupree & The Big Sound - later morphing into Gentle Giant. Think the Shulman brothers are still with us?
I know Jacqui Chan is (that's Jacqueline, not Jackie, the act'ress'). She's nearly 80 now.

Wonder if she can still do the 'sweet nothings' on Kites?
If you're wondering wtf I am on about, she's about 2m18secs in. Big hit in 67.

Technically not as the Art of Noise though, as the rights to the name are, I believe, held by Trevor Horn.

When I posted that in 2013 it was a pretty safe bet that they wouldn’t reform. Anne Dudley was happy doing music soundtracks and classical pieces, JJ Jeczalik had left the music industry and had become a school teacher before retiring in 2012, and Gary Langan was happy being a music producer. Trevor Horn is still a music producer and Paul Morley was (and still is) a pretentious wker.

It could be argued that the original line-up will never reform, but having been proved wrong once from a post from 5 years ago I’m not going to make that statement again.

The Police; reformed for a tour in 2007/2008 but according to Sting, that was the last of it for the band.

Simple Minds

Kraftwerk

Jethro Tull

A Genesis reunion is mooted almost on a weekly basis in Prog forums but I reckon it'll never happen. Phil Collins is finished as a powerhouse drummer and by the time Peter Gabriel makes up his mind they'll all be dead anyway.

Have Rush ever said they've split up? No more big tours, yes. Either way, I'd be astounded if they don't release new material. And probably go on a big tour to support it!

Neil Peart has more or less retired, due to health issues. Wonder if John Rutsey is still available? (google) Nope, he's dead.

REM are unlikely to reform, although I'm not sure if they've officially split up, and definitely not with Bill Berry.
