The Stone Roses

I don't think Ian Brown and John Squire would be able to put their differences behind them, and I don't think Ian appears to be money motivated so I can't see it happening.

Sadly, this. Hand on heart, I would pay £1000 to see them play. At least Moz still plays Smiths songs at gigs.

ABBA

They've come close a few times but the blonde one has issues about open spaces. It's been said that if they ever did tour, they'd be the highest earning group from a single tour ever.

A couple of others....

The Stone Roses - there have been a few rumours recently that Ian Brown's sking, but I still don't see it happening.

Ride - Mark Gardener and Andy Bell's relationship being the reason why. Missed seeing them, would love to be proved wrong!

I think Joe Strummer would have a bit of difficulty performing.

Mine would be Metallica (Newstead era).

What's the deal with Dire Straits then? Have they all fallen out or just that Knopfler wants to do other things? I was listening to some live tracks of theirs the other day and wondering if they would tour again.

Mark, in interviews, says he has no interest in reforming. He didn't enjoy the level of fame they had, the huge gigs they played at, it all got too big. He's happier doing the more personal stuff.

If Dire Straits reformed it would be too big.

Doesn't seem to have been any fallout, just Mark isn't interested because they're too famous, and he seems to more or less feel, probably accurately, that Dire Straits was Mark Knopfler and Friends anyway so he gets on just as well with a stool to sit on (I think he has back problems as well), session musicians, and an audience right there in front of him.

Already happened (to a point) when Newasted played with them when they were inducted into the rock n roll hall of fame (all be it with Trujillo as well).

Led Zep - John Bonham is dead

Lynyrd Skynrd - Ronnie Van Zant and Steve Gaines are both dead (although there have been so many members of the band you could be talking about another line-up).

Yeah - Liam will be monumentally successful with his new act Beady Eye. roflroflrofl
Seriously. roflroflrofl

Noel is ALL of the talent of that Duo - Liam is fking useless without him. Oasis will reform in the next 4 years and start doing stadium tours again. They will need the money - and Liam certainly needs Noel to make any of that.
