was at the stones in milan, 2006, we were still setting up at san siro one afternoon when they just mooched in and started playing, that was cool. then the 1st night of the tour, as it was at the san siro, the night after the italiens had won the world cup, the atmosphere was bonkers. red hot chili peppers, at a club gig in cologne last year was really cool, only a 1000 people there on the promo tour. roger waters, the wall, last year in athens was very good.
i missed out on the foo's at mk bowl last year, so that, and any queen gig, i'd love to have been at.

Also, Ozzy Osbourne at Malvern Winter Gardens 10/1980 Having been born and raised in Malvern in the 80s, I remain angry to this day that during my time of conscious appreciation the most exciting act to play at the Winter Gardens was Val Doonican.

We didn't get many acts in SA when I was growing up, so The Cult in Johannesburg (supporting Lenny Kravitz, who I walked out after what felt like a 40 minute sax solo with no end in sight) and Smashing Pumpkins in Pretoria probably pale in comparison to the best on here, but those are the two I've seen that rocked the most. Bon Jovi put on a spectacular show too actually.
I'm surprised to see no mention of Depeche Mode, I heard that they were excellent live in the '80s when there were still four of them?

wal 45 said: Kraftwerk - Manchester Velodrome 2009. Waited over 25 years to see them due to being away with work on their few trips to the UK and hadn't ever looked forward to a gig that much. Just awesome from the start of Man Machine to Music Non Stop, also had the bonus of Team GB cycling around the track during "Tour de France. Seen them since and can't wait to see the new set. I was there! Great gig, when the cyclists came out on track I knew it was going to be one of those "I was there" moments. Other great Kraftwerk gigs for me.... "Stop Sellafield" at GMEX (with U2, Public Enemy and Big Audio Dynamite) in '92 (?) At a Power Station, Nowa Hute, just outside Krakow in '06 At Tribal Gathering in '96 A mate saw them in the 70's and has just been working on the same desk that Conny Plank used to mix Autobahn Other non-Kraftwerk gigs De La Soul with a guest appearance by Damon Albarn and Mos Def at Manchester Festival in '09 Faithless at the Eclipse in '99

Old age has its benefits. Also saw Marillion touring Script for a Jester's Tear there and Magnum too.

I saw Rammstein last friday at the O2, and i have to say that although musically they are very good as an arena show it was completely insane and possibly the greatest show i've seen.

A couple stand out for me Nirvana @ Reading fest 92 , I was at the front of what was possibly there finest gig and sadly there last in the UK Another standout gig was U2 during the Joshua Tree tour of 87
Gigs are only special when a band is in there peak and that's not necessarily when they've made it big, when Bify Clyro were touring with vertigo of Bliss I think they were at there best, seen them 14 times since and its never been as good as the early shows
I watched The Who at Glastonbury a few years ago and was so disappointed but I have no doubt they were incredible in there youth
I would happily whatch these bands again!!
Sonic youth during the Dirty tour Faith No More @ Phenix Festival Prodigy @ Glastonbury Portishead @ Glast Radiohead @ V fest Cold war Kids @ Glast park stage Deus in Bristol INXS Bristol 1987 Kick Tour Artic Monkeys @ Glast Mumford and Sons @ Benicasim Spain James Brown @ V fest
