Pink Floyd - for the me the greatest band of all time. Simply their imagination, the ability to reinvent themselves and to innovate. Some of the things they were doing in the 60's and 70's were light years ahead of anyone else at the time.

Syd Barrett and Roger Waters may have been the architects in chief when it came to the music, however it was David Gilmour to came to the fore when it boiled down to performing live.

I think the Pulse and On an Island tours were fantastic, however it was Live 8 in 2005 that will remain in the memory. They said hell would freeze over before The Floyd got back together, they performed for approx. 25 mins for the first time in 25 years and they completely owned Live 8.

I was there, and was so happy to see them play live, they were awesome...couldn't understand why the whole place cleared out as soon as Robbie bloody Wiiliams finished his set when you had bands like Floyd, The Who etc afterwards. Even If you're not into their music it would be a once in a lifetime thing so surely a great experience not to be missed. We got talking to a couple from Manchester during the day who kept going on and on about 'our Robbie', and fked off back to their hotel around the corner when he finished!

Going to see this lot at The Roundhouse in Camden next May....tickets went on sale last week, if there are any left I can't recommend seeing this band enough. A truly awesome live experience by a very talented collective of musicians (Gary Numan's guitarist, bassist from Gary Moore's old band and Jethro Tull, Drummer plays with The Alarm and From The Jam, incredible singers....)

The name is form the Ministry song "Jesus Built My Hot Rod" - there aren't enough characters to fit the full song in so I had to shorten it...

The quote "Jesus built my car" as well as the "nobody with a good car" quotes in the ministry song, are from the John Huston film wise blood

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080140/?ref_=rvi_tt

Edit: I might be wrong, it might just be the "nobody with a good car" quotes at the beginning, will have to watch it again...
