great live performances -you tube

Another Live from Daryl's House, The O'jays, so much awesome going on here (and I'm no Ojays fan) my head nearly exploded. Goodness starts at 3min30 for the impatient, if you can run it through a hifi then do, the production is great.

I'd (almost) forgotten just how good CCR were.

Probably said it before, but I have loved guitar players since I first watched Peter Green and Danny Kirwan (Mac) in the 60s.
But I just adore the underrated - cue: Mike Campbell.
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers doing Refugee at Oxford Poly in 1980. He's 30 here.

Fast forward 32 years to the Isle of Wight, same song age 62.

Now that guitar playing is like a good whiskey that's matured to perfection.
Really enjoyed that cheers. But I just adore the underrated - cue: Mike Campbell.

Saw Tom approx 3 years ago, one of the most surprising gigs I've ever been to. It rocked from start to finish, I hadn't expected it to rock quite as much. Brilliant.
Sound of Silence performed by Disturbed - This gives me goosebumps every time I watch this, such an amazing, powerful voice and a beautiful version of this song:

This is the best version of "Sleepwalk" I've heard :-
Jeff Beck live
I swear to god that Beck could be given a piece of 4 x 2 with two strings, and he'd still get his signature sound.

A live, acoustic set by David Coverdale and Adrian Vandenbergh. Really showcases his fantastic blues voice.

For anyone that likes banjo, acoustic guitar/bass then have a quick listen to the Kruger Brothers in Switzerland

The music starts about 8 mins in and most of the material is their own but Fields of Gold is worth a listen at about 1hr 39mins
3 superb musicians even if you aren't keen on the material

Weller.
Not everyone's taste, but I'm answering the thread title question.
Great live performance, oh yes.

Take a look/listen to this, Billy Joel at his (IMO) musical peak, pre-superstardom. This will be a real eye-opener for anyone who only knows ‘Uptown Girl’! In particular, listen to the piano playing on “Root beer Rag’ (starts at just after 26 minutes) and the way the whole band is sort of like an organic entity. Incredible.

Two that immediately spring to mind, for me.

John Sykes' solo for me is one of the greats.
