Anyone else off to see Eric Church next year? Got my Glasgow ticket booked!

Been listening to a lot of Kip Moore this year , he is really good and worth a listen smile
I'm at the Shepherds Bush Empire gig.

Also got C2C tickets which should be brilliant! Brad Paisley, Zac Brown Band and many more.

Just trying to find some tickets for Taylor Swift that are fairly decent.
Oh god, how did I miss this thread! I've long been a massive fan of modern country and have many albums from Alan Jackson, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, Kip Moore, Eric Church, Band Perry, Rascal Flatts, Rodney Atkins, Jason Aldean and Love and Theft. Also a few Taylor Swift ones, but only her first few before she went off the rails....

I was at C2C London on Sunday, it was great to see some of my favourite artists live (especially Kimberley Perry lick ) and will certainly be going next year. Didnt realise Church was touring too, I will look into it. I'd really love to see a Toby Keith gig over here though, that would be redneck to the extreme hehe

If anyone has an internet radio (or listens to radio over the computer, then IMHO by far the best country station is 97.5 WPCV (www.wpcv.com) based out of Lakeland, Florida. They are always on the pulse with new stuff but throw some classics into the mix too, and the presenters are great as well.

Saw Toby Keith a few years ago at Wembley Arena, I think it was his first gig over here... it was so undersold they screened off about a 1/3 of the arena, it also didn't really feel like it ever got going. Still got rocking out to Get Drunk and Be Somebody!

IMHO the best modern Country radio station is 98.7 The Bull from Portland Oregon, give it a spin wink

AXS are having an advance sale for next year's C2C online tomorrow morning at 09:00. No acts announced as yet, so it would be a bit of a leap of faith, but given the strong line ups this year and last I'm tempted to get a weekend pass.

I could only make Sunday this year, and as noted above it was a superb day, especially Brad Paisley.

The country radio station I have been mostly listening to is WSM but I fancy a change so I will give the ones listed above a go.

Some names on here I know, but lots new to me. I really enjoyed a long session of listening to Darius Rucker the other w/e, I'll have a Spotify session to listen to a few of your suggestions.

Would thoroughly recommend Dierks Bentley, apart from Brad Paisley, he seems to be the one everyone is talking about from this weekend. It may have a lot to do with how much energy and enthusiasm he put into his set, but he did rattle out some brilliant songs. He did an amazing cover of the Avicii song called Hey Brother which has been stuck in my head for the last weekend:

The best way I've found to get some new names on my playlists is listen to internet country stations like 98.7 The Bull or just have a look at their playlists:

Can't beat a good trip to the States for some inspiration. TuneIn Radio is good for that one, or change your iTunes store to USA and look at top charts for Country.

Great album, if you like The Band Perry then try Lady Antebellum, they're pretty damn good also

Have you seen their latest song, a cover of Glen Campbell? Simply beautiful in my opinion:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNsdWycw-MM

I gather they have a new album on the way, which I am eagerly awaiting to see if it as good as their first two.

I think Neil is quite underrated - he sings quite well and should do some more duets/sharing with Kimberley (like this country cover of Queen:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcumG9LC2m4).

Kimberley is still as good as ever, but you can see as the band is getting more popular and mainstream, she is progressively being glammed up from country gal in the old videos to heavily made up pop diva in the new releases (the video of "Done" springs to mind https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4emYaDbaJ8w), which could result in the danger of ending up on the same disappointing road as Taylor Swift......

In some ways, Reid must feel like a bit of a third wheel as times. He only ever sings chorus backing bits (I dont think he can sing as well as the other two), and in a lot of their songs he has to stand around like a lemon for the first half until the bassline kicks in hehe

Got my ticket to see Lady Antebellum and Kip Moore in Glasgow, very much looking forward to it! Especially Kip Moore as I have found his live stuff on YouTube is brilliant and all the snippets from the new album are extremely promising biggrin
