Drum and Bass / Jungle - Mid 90's
Discussion
Challenge accepted. I will post in order to make it blend and just do 10 - 15 to make it simple. So 60 mins odd. Obviously extend the mix either side if needs be, but these should be good. I will even post a track list for ease.... standby.
Will post in around an hour once done.
Its gonna be dark, amen and 96 heavy. With some randoms.

To give an idea of what I’ve got, I started in late 91 and have tons of 92 hardcore. 93 I was really into dark stuff that Ratty/Bukem played, think reinforced, formation, etc, then tons of jungle in 94 along side what was classed as intelligent, GLR, Photek, etc.
95-98 I mainly played more jump up stuff than dark. Think Dope Dragon, No Smoking, Joker, Ebony, Ganja etc. I never really went for the Ed Rush, Source Direct type of thing. My specialist subject is Bristol, from 93 onwards I was heavily into literally anything by Roni, Die, Krust and Suv. I had every single release on every label accociated with them, and every remix they did on any other labels too.
Of course I had pretty much every release on what I call the big 4, Formation, Moving Shadow, Reinforced and Sub Base.
What it does show is just how many thousands of tunes there have been in the genres! As I said, even with over 7k worth there’s still tons I never had.
Around 10 years ago when I went digital at one point I had around 15k of tunes, but I never played loads of them so had a huge thinning out as it was just a nightmare trying to manage it all

I was never into techno or anything directly related, heres a few crossovers though that did get onto my radar.
First off is a very obscure one, I only ever heard this once and that was on Bryan Gee - Back to the future tape from mid 92.
It took me until 2002 to get it ID'd!
Another German one, this was played by Bukem and Ratty.

A few whitelabel obscurities, to me these totally sum up 92 hardcore. People say I. Their bedroom writing tunes on Amigas and ST’s, sampling anything and everything, usually from their parents vinyl collection.
So many people have said that is the exact reason why hardcore was so diverse, simply because of the range of music everyone’s parents listened to!
I loved that there was always a fun element too, if a tune made you laugh it was a good one!
If a sample fitted in it was used, no matter the source or how daft it might be. Things got too clinical and that lost the soul of the music. People spending a week worrying if their high hat was the right frequency.
Sod that, bang it in and have some fun!
Press a few hundred whites and you’ve got some of the best hardcore ever sold.
