Guess I have 2 bookmarks now, one of my tunes (paused) and one when where I find the albums of my childhood. Its all gravy.

So much enjoyment finding and posting these one off's.

Ah, Formation/5HQ, I dread to think how much I spent in that place! A good £30-50 every Saturday from 92-96 or so and then some!
Formation was one of the labels I had pretty much every release of, from 1-100. I was missing some, then one day Andy Ostro who worked there said I could up into the loft above the office. Oh my god! Various boxes of original pressings that had not sold, I near enough completed the collection then, it was a treasure trove of the lesser known releases, but ones I needed to fill the gaps.
Funnily enough, when it came to release the compilation mix album to mark release 100, they were missing some of the releases. The album was 4 mixes split into 25 tunes, working through every release in order. They couldn’t find some copies anywhere so I had to lend them a load of mine biglaugh

As for compilations, I never bought any so can’t really comment on what were the best, I avoided them as they were nearly always quiet pressings which were no good to play in clubs

Will check out all the above later - so Stussy did you ever know of / visit Nine Bar records in Epsom? That was the place I used to frequent as a 14 year old upwards. It was an awkward spot, and I never really felt welcome as I was very different to the crew that used to chill there, but it was my local.

These are all a little "late" for my liking - good posts but my heart sits a little earlier.

For example:
