I disagree with Rio. It was pretty bad then and it's pretty bad now. It hasn't AGED badly wink
However, I quite like it, unfortunately.

Cher singing on the deck of the USS Missouri. So bad, even back then.

I seem recall liking her outfit muchly. In fact, just googled and STILL like it!

I think one of the musicians in the video is her son. That must have been a real role reversal.

Son: "Where do you think you're going!"
Cher "I'm going out!"
Son: "Not looking like that you're not!"

Mr. Mister - Kyrie

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHXgHjDOxUM

Just about every 80's AOR cliché in one video.

Video shot in empty arena before the gig - check
with added tourbus shots - check
limo shots enroute to WKLZ radio in some midwest bumsville town - check
black leather or denim jacket with rolled-up sleeves in every shot - check

Yeah but the single off the album was pure 80's kitsch!

Loved the film when I was younger, saw it again recently..... oh dear.

As an avid reader and fan of the Biggles books, that film is an uttery travesty that should be wiped off the face of the earth.

Setting aside the fact it was re-written with the time-travel bit at ther 11th hour to cash in on Back to the Future's success...
Setting aside the fact that most of the props and vehicles are blatantly 1930s, no doubt due to lower budget/ better availability than WW1 stuff...
Setting aside the pisspoor acting....

...... when they cannot even get the most very basic elements of the characters right, what bloody hope does the rest of the film have?!!

Biggles was a teenager in the war, not a middle aged bloke
Ginger and Bertie were not introduced until 1930 and 1940, only Algy was around in WW1
Raymond was a Major, later Colonel, never a Captain (which was Biggles' rank). He was from wing intelligence, not the squadron CO (Major Mullen)
Von Stalhein was Raymond's opposite number in the German intelligence service, not a bloody fighter pilot!
An officer of Raymond's seniority in WW1 would have been well over 100 by the 1980s
Marie was a German spy, not a random villager

...and breathe!

I could nominate a few but this one sort of stands out. The dancing just doesn't match the music

Totally agree, it was utter Hollywood tosh, but somehow my young brain was enthralled. Either that or it was Fiona Hutchinson's gravity defying back comb.

Oh and hush, we had a lucky getaway - originally Dudley Moore was cast as Biggles!

I agree, it really was the height of 1980s videos. And that classic framestore/quantel paintbox effects really hit a peak.

Lets have some 80s stuff. Funky. Video effects overload.

Neneh Cherry - Buffalo Stance

Another one I loved. Wonder what this effect button does hehe
Krush - House arrest.

Found it!! This must be the ultimate looked great at the time.

Break Machine - Street Dance
I remember how cool they looked. And now...well looking through my fingers I don't know if to laugh or cry.

Still it was 31 years ago (yikes) so I suppose it much be given some slack.

Great thread. I nominate this 80's gem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMSFqXGZ5TQ

Fantastic song, fantastically bad video. Aside from the obvious 'band members seemingly levitating around the place', the broadcast kit really makes it look old!

I ummed and aahed about including this one, as Autograph's other well known song, Turn Up The Radio, is a true rock 'n' roll classic that can be forgiven its laser-beamed, dry-ice-smoking cheesiness as some true 80s nostalgia.

This.. well... just can't. Not even the gratuitous Corvette shots can save this budge b-movie of a music video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJICFeLvy64

Similarly.... I'm not quite sure what was going through the mind of the nuclear apocalypse fanatic that directed this, Bon Jovi's very first music video. I have no idea what relevance the creepy-faced flaming-eyed schoolgirl has, either:
