Music videos that have aged very badly
Discussion
The '80s really knew how to do it.

Similarly.... I'm not quite sure what was going through the mind of the nuclear apocalypse fanatic that directed this, Bon Jovi's very first music video. I have no idea what relevance the creepy-faced flaming-eyed schoolgirl has, either:

Holy carp - can't believe that is 30 years old already. I mean, its clearly from the early 80s, I just seem to have lost all track of time. In the 30 years I've had this album, I've just seen this video for the first time. Sticking to audio, me.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s86K-p089R8
The Cliff vid shown earlier in the thread reminds me of the film Xanadu that was around at the same time...

Might fall under the definition of 'crap then, crap now.'
I thought this was hilarious at the time let alone now.

Pavarotti singing Volare while playing golf. Doesn't get much better than this.

That's pretty bad https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztGtPbp7tQc
Dont ask me how, but I ended up listening to this earlier. The whole thing just screams 90s, with the retro-futuristic identikit-hunks doing that weird synchronised dance. Kinda creepy, actually.

- A brilliant dig at a video by Robert Palmer - and I think Shania's video tops the originalhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJL4UGSbeFg
Also, thanks to this thread, I have just purchased the Best of Laura Branigan - Remember This?

Hmm...she's never as sexy as you think you remember in this video. Like your auntie at her works Christmas party in a karaoke club.Silver Smudger said:

I was going to say this one but it was aged before it was released.
what has been seen cannot be unseen
As a matter of fact it has nothing going for it at all.
Do I win?

No, for me it is getting better - Back then she was 5 years older than I was, and just threatening to show signs of middle age.Now she is a hot girl ten years younger than me!

I am sure it looked really cool back in 1977 but not it looks like a poor Stig tribute band.

For some strange reason after not hearing it for ages, played twice on daytime Radio 2 in the last couple of days. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_ukfGAd8T4

This video and its plot must surely have looked cheesy in 1982, let alone now!

I'd like to put this forward:

Peter Gabriel - Digging in the Dirt
Why? Because I put it together back when I was a video editor at the BBC. 24 hours solid with only Red Bull to keep us going (Rock 'n' Roll eh?). It had to make a debut deadline on MTV.
There are many many layers of video going on at some points, and without digital equipment of any kind the quality of each layer got worse as we overlaid more stuff. Some bits are good, some not so much, and things like the blue-screen wasp were near impossible to make work.
Still, we did make it work and whilst the image quality is a million miles from what can be achieved today, it won awards and it still represents one of my most memorable days as an editor. (I only did a few music videos and commercials, most stuff was less exciting).
