In the tea room at work one of the lads asked me about the concert on Wednesday. As I gave my - by now well rehearsed - speech,a lady of a certain age and girth piped up, "I know! I went to see One Direction."

"Really?"

The day arrives.
35 years of sweat, aching limbs and drunken fun comes to an end in Camden tonight (probably) with my last Wilko gig. I really can't believe it.

Saw that on my Facebook. I watched Oil city confidential this weekend. Just when you think you know a band...

I realise by dint of posting in here most people are fans but it's well worth a look if you haven't seen it, it's a painfully candid assessment of the boys, not least of Willko in his own words.

Just watched Madness at the bbc farewell do for the Television Centre and he guested on one of the songs.

So much awesome, looking better than you'd expect.

Available on iplayer.

My brother spoke to Will Birch yesterday and apparently Wilko has a bad cold. Hopefully just a temporary glitch in his farewell gigs.

Given the weather conditions at the BBC, I was surprised to see him. What a way to play out though.

Although I'm a big fan of the REAL Feelgoods. That is R'n'B, not some blues band. I do love some of Wilko's brilliant 'choppy' songs. Here's Ecstacy!

Oh, and indulge me for a second....I made this yesterday. A momento.

The best ambassador for HH 100 amps ever!
Probably the only person in the known universe to get a decent sound out of them - bloody orrible things!

LOL I had one in 80's, heavy, ste sound even with Boss pedals, switched to a Roland Bolt 60, then a Jazz Chorus, great amp for clean but same dirty sound as the HH.

Bloody Hell Bolt 60!! Now that's a rare old beast - one of the early hybrid tranny/valve attempts wasn't it? thumbup
