just got tickets to see The Illegal Eagles for SWMBO and myself

Was really quite tempted with Linkin Park but in the end not tempted enough to spend 120ish for 2 tickets (I know it's not a huge amount as far as gigs go but if you're not convinced....)

Guess it depends on the curfew at the gig, but its the Foos so i'm guessing it will be a decent set smile
Just wish i could go.

Been a quiet year for me so far, saw Paul weller in Dalby forest, saw james at the castlefield bowl in Manchester and seen Paul heaton and jacqui Abbott, that's it for now. Also saw opening night of monty python at the O2!

So far

St Vincent - wow seriously wow
The Notwist - pretty great
Broken Bells - so hipster
censored Buttons - scary & cathartic
Jonny Greenwood & LCO Soloists - pretty great & the only gig I've ever been to in a wind tunnel.

Still to come

Neko Case - one of the great voices.
The Hold Steady x2 - the worlds best bar band
Warpaint - not seen them before
The War On Drugs - not seen these guys either
The National - one of the finest live bands around right now.

Safe to expect a 10:30pm curfew at an outdoor gig in London, and I hoping to see at least a hour from the Foos..

This is supposed to be their only UK show this year, but it wouldn't surprise me to see a last minute club show somewhere like Dingwalls.

wouldnt count on it, i seen them play at meadownbank stadium in edinburgh a few years ago, was their own headline show and they played for an hour and 15 (that included going off and coming back for an encore) actually had it down as a very mediocre gig and prob wouldnt rush back to see them!

Glad I didn't bother going to that one..

The more recent shows in the UK have been longer - 3hrs last time at Dingwalls and two and a half in Milton Keynes and were superb both times.

As this one is a mixed bill, I'm not expecting anything resembling a full setlist for that reason and essentially a charity gig.

Just booked tickets to see Interpol, second time in under a year, for Roundhouse London in February. Really looking forward to seeing them again.

EDIT Ok, so technically a post to be kept for "Gig Plans 2015" hehe

£55?! I paid £25 a ticket for the London gig. Ok so it involves a train and hotel expense too but that's very steep. What's the venue?

They're playing at The Albert Hall, ents24 has tickets at £58.99 + booking fee, GETMEIN have them from £48. Seetickets say the gig is sold out so the ones left must be at a premium? I've seen them a few times in the past so it's no great loss to miss them on this rotation tbh. I preferred the earlier stuff too, when Dengler was on the payroll...I understand Paul has migrated to vocals & bass duties so maybe another hired gun on 2nd guitar?

Janes Addiction in Brixton in a couple of weeks time. They are playing through their first album, Nothing's Shocking, so it's going to be special.

Off to see Royal Blood do a live set at X-FM tonightbounce

Think the studio holds 30 people, so should be fairly cozy! Won tickets by responding to a comp they put on twitter! They said if you want to come and join us let us know why you should be there. My surname is Parr, so I said "I've got Royal Blood in me, one of my ancestors was Catherine Parr (married to Henry the 8th)

Low and behold, I won!

got tickets this morning to see Jamie T and Biffy Clyro before the years out. Both gigs going to be at the barrowlands in glasgow, should be pretty good!
