That is an impressive list biggrin
I too am a big Interpol fan but do not like them live. Seen them a couple of times and I think they lack energy.
Brand New are excellent as are Blood Red Shoes cool
Ok I will lower my expectations for Interpol;) they are one of the few I have not been able to catch over the years , I have seen Blood Red Shoes five times and they have been great value, I have even been for a few beers with Steven the drummer, wish it was Laura thoughbiggrin

The only one booked at the moment is Black Stone Cherry at the KOKO Club on 28th Feb, but I'm intending to go to Sonisphere on the day that Metallica are headlining - just waiting for day tickets to go on sale.

Just 2 gigs so far this year but they've set the bar very high for those that follow.

St Vincent at Shep Bush Empire - the new album is great but the live show is on another level entirely. Seriously wow.

The Notwist at Village Underground - the lines between rock and dance music have rarely been so blurred.

Still to come are Broken Bells, F*** Buttons, Jonny Greenwood with BBC Concert Orchestra and many others I don't have tickets for yet.

I'll be taking the wife to see Rod Stewart at Taunton for her 50th birthday (assuming I can get some decent tickets).

Quiet year for me at the moment, but I imagine a few more will be announced in the coming months.

March 13th - Mgla, Svartidaudi etc. London

June 7th - Mystifier, Bolzer etc. London

August 7-10th - Bloodstock at Catton Park, Derbyshire

November 1st - Damnation Festival, Leeds.

I was hoping for a festival abroad but can't really justify anything in the summer, may have to wait until later on in the year, if anything takes my fancy.

Wow - please let us know if he's still as angry as when they first toured.

I saw them play in Manchester on their second ever night playing in the UK. Seriously thought someone was going to die that night.

The drummer was in a cage for protection and the number of times he threw his guitarist off stage into the crowd and was throwing water over the keyboards - I'd never and haven't ever seen anything quite like it. Made a Macc Lads concert look like kindergarten outing to the sandpit.

One of my most memorable concerts, and that would include being on/jumping off the stage with Kurt Cobain in the Duchess of York in Leeds.

Hope it's as powerful now as it was back then. Reznor is a musical genious, have you seen how many movie sound tracks he's worked on?

Went to see Bombay Bicycle Club in Manchester last night. They absolutely killed it. They're playing there again tonight so if anybody's free, I suggest you get down there and get a ticket.

Their show at the O2 Arena in May will be about the 8th or 9th NIN gig, which started with the support slot for G'n'R at Wembley Stadium in '91 up to the Scala in London last year. As intense as their shows can be, they've never quite hit the level of that UK club tour in '91 - saw them in King Tut's in Glasgow, and that was epic, and likewise thought someone was going to be seriously hurt that night. Funnily enough, I spoke to Trent Reznor in the bar before the show, and you wouldn't have thought it was the same guy on stage. Macc Lads gigs were always pretty insane though!!

Aside from that, got tickets for D-A-D next month in London, and the last ever shows (supposedly) by Carter USM at Shepherd's Bush and Brixton Academy.

Otherwise, will probably pick up tickets for the Calling Festival gigs on Clapham Common.

Good effort, I was thinking about going to this although they sold out very quick - Have wanted to see Carter since they started playing Brixton again a few years back but never managed it. I only like their earlier work but I bet they're a great live act (and I'd really enjoy it!).

They're probably one of the best live acts I've seen, and it will be a bittersweet moment IF these are the last shows - never been to a bad Carter gig.

Chances of picking up tickets at a reasonable price will be high for the Shepherd's Bush gig as, from what the band's management have reported, touts may have bought too many and are likely to take a bit of a hammering due to oversupply (which will be nice) - the rate Brixton sold out caught them by surprise.

It's nostalgia, this year...

Went to see Lloyd Cole at Shepherd's Bush Jan 31st.

Off to see "The South" (some of the Beautiful South) in Aldershot in June and then The Specials in Bournemouth in November.

Wanted to see Franz Ferdinand again, but they were on in London when I was away on business and now they're playing Somerset House when I'm on holiday! frown

Cheers, I will have to keep an eye out for tickets closer to the dates.
