Royal blood postponed until January due to illness....
FFS that's poor form, postponing on the day, they must know a day before

I was there at James last night (absolutely brilliant btw), itself a rescheduled show due to a similar on-the-day cancellation. We got chatting to a chap who'd driven from Derby, taking yesterday afternoon and today off work for the gig, people invest a lot of time and money in these things.

I'd be a tad pissed off if I'd done similar and the show had been pulled at a few hours notice today. I know, it's in the T&Cs, but if he's got 'severe tonsilitis' as stated on the O2 Oxford website this morning then he probably had it last night, and could've pulled the gig then and let people go to work if they could do.
Personally I'd rather it was postponed than turn up to a st gig, or have it cut short.

yes, this^

Or probably the worst gig ever, turned up to a nine inch nails gig at the docklands arena 15 years ago, got inside to find they'd been "substituted" for ash due to illness. as it was a mini-festival rather than a nin gig per se (although nin were the sole reason for the bulk of ticket sales) they actually managed to make it stick.

happier note, dreadzone this fridaysmile

I agree, but it's the short notice of the postponement that I have an issue with. If the singer had, as described, severe tonsilitis yesterday morning, they probably knew full well he couldn't perform the night before. Why not pull the plug then, rather than wait until the day of the gig, so that people can make other plans? Rhetorical question: it's the promoter gambling on the act magically getting better in time for the show, which generally never happens.

Hardly unbelievable though.

Singing night after night, gets a bit of a sore throat, puts it off, has a few throat sweets, then wakes up one morning barely able to speak - quack diagnoses severe tonsillitis.

They don't seem the prima donna sort.

Yeah, they were excellent, I saw them at the academy last time they came round and i enjoyed last night more, but that might just be because I knew the songs better

not a chance, my mate just text me about this because he got an e-mail about it. they are playing the hydro in glasgow (biggest gig venue below a stadium in scotland) and they are also charging £50 a ticket!!!! scandelous!!!! i really did not think they would be big enough to justify a venue of that size, or to command that much money for a ticket!

on the other hand i just got tickets for foo fighters at murrayfield next summer!!! i was reluctant to get tickets after they disappointed me hugely at the meadowbank gig a few years back, but giving them another chance.

Did you find it hard getting the foo fighter tickets?

People are going mental on facebook, i just had it on auto refresh for 10 mins then tried manual and got tickets for wembley no problem.

Managed to get 4 x tickets to the Foo Fighters for the Saturday night at Wembley!

Refreshed a couple of times then got through no bother. Bookface seems to be going a bit mad mind... I see Stubhub advertising at inflated prices already though...
