I'm sure I've seen this guitar on sevenstring.org, are you a member, or did you purchase it from a member, perhaps?
Nope, never been on there. I bought it from a guy in Korea - quite a gamble! The UV77MC is probably the one I'm most willing to let go, as 7 strings aren't really for me frown Shame really because it is a really nice guitar

I'm still not allowed it (harsh, but fair), so I have stolen a few of the sellers photos to show you lot. My own poor attempts will go back into the 'show us your guitar' thread.
Hope you like! (This is like a water torture for me!)

Jesus that is fresh, looks like it's been a barely-played collector piece. Now learn the entire "Passion and Warfare" album from start to finish and give the guitar the playing it deserves.

Definitely the first thing you'd play on that would be 'for the love of god', with compulsory Steve Vai facial expressions...

The song that inspired me to take up 7 string guitars, there was no turning back for me after that one.

Shame I missed this post OP, I was thinking about parting with one of my swirlys... I also have a UV77MC but at the moment it's wearing an "Out of this swirled" body as the other one is mint. It's in the pic anyway smile.

The others are the rare PMC and GMC

Nice collection Bloodfart. I think I recognise that PMC, did you buy it off a guy called James?...

Quite a collection, rather impressive!

Just been told that a Charvel 1986 Model 4 has come up for sale at my go-to guitar store, and it is like new apparently. Rather exciting about getting down for play, I expect to be lighter of cash in couple of weeks...

Then I will have the enormity of 2 working guitars...

Simply stunning things. I'm fairly sure it's your collection that got me back to thinking about them!

Collection - nothing special, but a very time capsuled look at some of my taste! I'll post some pics when all four are together.

Washburn N2, JEM100 and a SG currently are in the rotation. A Brian May special, JS Surfing 20th anniv, a JS Chrome and a white Vai with monkey grip would complete my fantasy list.
You're a man of taste! Here's my little collection...

Left to right - Washburn HM20, Washburn Mercury, Ibanez JEM7VWH, Gibson SG '69 re-issue, Epiphone Ultra II

Looking to replace the SG with an Angus edition and the Epi with a Slash Gold Top at some point - but new house to finish building first!

smile

I suppose I should throw up a picture of my current, only guitar. It's an Ibanez K-7, the first and so far only production 7 string Ibanez have made with a Mahogany body. It's got it's own unique neck profile, it's got softer shoulders on the neck so it's more of a C feel than the harder-edged D feel of the Universe. I really need to get some better photos of it, as the ones I have don't show off the Firespark Blue finish, which is a deep blue with a very fine metallic flake in it.

Currently that is all I've got, but I've had some nice guitars over the years, sadly a lot of my photos are on an old laptop, I really should get some of them on the net.

Here's a few I've owned.

My Fender Malmsteen strat, incredible guitar.

BC Rich Pat O'brien (Cannibal Corpse) signature model - this one will rustle some jimmies! A properly pointy guitar made for single-minded metal, which it was brilliant at, but also I like to mix up my playing with a bit of metal, shred and jazz fusion in the same session, so swapping guitars became a bore and I sold it.

Some other good guitars I've owned include an Ibanez Xiphos 6 string, one of the original XP line when they first came out, cheap, sounded ace with the Dimarzio D-Activators and played like a dream. I had it tuned in C standard, what a guitar. Can't remember why I sold that one, wish I hadn't!

I also owned the first customer Ibanez RG2228 in the country, bought it without even playing it. Another fabulously constructed guitar, but I found the 27" scale a chore, though it was nowhere near as stiff to play as a 26.5" Schecter, it just didn't have the right balance of tension that I like about the 25.5" K-7.

I haven't bought a new guitar in a few years now, because it always ends the same way. I need to get a guitar that doesn't compete with the K-7, it needs to do something different. It will either be a thin-necked nylon string Ibanez acoustic or a single coiled strat. I may also get a fixed bridge 6 or 7 for A standard tuning.

Damn, there's some nice wood there!

Not sure if you're from London way, but at Rockers a couple of years ago a guy who was emigrating to Australia sold his entire collection of 20 or so JEMs/UVs. I picked up the PMC there, and funnily enough I learned quite recently that my UV77MC was one of his too. A friend bought his VSK (which he later sold!) and a mint DY. Funny story, that VSK that my friend sold is now owned by the guy I bought the UV77MC from. The JEM/UV world is so inbred smile

Between myself and a friend, and some friends of friends in the area there are 2x PMCs, 4x GMCs, 1x DNA, 1x UV77MC, and lots of other easier to find Ibanez guitars that I know of. None of us have managed to score an LNG yet frown!

I really love the look of the BFP, although when playing my friends one it felt totally different to my PMC. Both maple, but the BFP had a super glossed fretboard/neck which I couldn't get on with. Easily fixed I suppose wink

OK< I have got it, it's amazing, but HELP! The Tremlo is locked down - how do I raise it to the normal position? Is it take the back off it?

Edit - ignore me! In my excitement I didn't realise all the strings were totally slackened off for travel... silly
