Anyone know of any for sale in the UK? I know about the Glasgow one, but the Mrs says NO!

Cheers all...

You'll have to be a bit more specific than that, are you looking for an original Universe, the UV77MC, the 2010 reissue or the Jem DNA guitars?

I'd love a swirled Universe, my dream guitar and has been for years. They are rare are Unicorn horns and the reissues are mega money, they retailed at something ridiculous like £8000 iirc.

My mate has a DNA guitar amongst his collection of Steve Vai Jems but I wouldn't know if he's looking to sell it. It's probably signed as well now I come to think of it. He is very good at getting himself in front of Steve at gigs.

Cheers all - I managed to find one and pressed 'buy' - this is on it's way over....

Edit - it's a 1990 UV77MC. Signed by the man himself as well. (God I'm sad...) biggrin

What a find! Surely, the only thing that could top this for cool points would be finding Shawn Lane's Charvel 750XL Soloist!

I was tempted to lift one of Guthrie's new Charvel signatures when I saw the Aristocrats a fortnight ago!

Good one OP, pics when you get it!

A worthy investment piece?

I've always had a soft spot for this particular Jem, they seem to come up for sale fairly infrequently.

Im not so hot my Jems, but I rather fancy one of the 777 shocking pinks with the rosewood ivy neck. The early 777vsk.

Actually I fancy a pink guitar full stop...

Ask her if some sad blokes on the internet can see a picture...

Is this guitar part of a larger collection?

Shame I missed this post OP, I was thinking about parting with one of my swirlys... I also have a UV77MC but at the moment it's wearing an "Out of this swirled" body as the other one is mint. It's in the pic anyway smile.

The others are the rare PMC and GMC

Simply stunning things. I'm fairly sure it's your collection that got me back to thinking about them!

Collection - nothing special, but a very time capsuled look at some of my taste! I'll post some pics when all four are together.

Washburn N2, JEM100 and a SG currently are in the rotation. A Brian May special, JS Surfing 20th anniv, a JS Chrome and a white Vai with monkey grip would complete my fantasy list.

I'm sure I've seen this guitar on sevenstring.org, are you a member, or did you purchase it from a member, perhaps?
