Just try and tell me this isnt a great, great rock album....

Schenkers guitar on this is superb....

I saw them twice as a youth, and this is till one of all time fave albums.

Yes, it's up there with Live and Dangerous & Space Ritual as one of the best live albums (IMO). Saw both UFO and Schenker last year, and both are still very good. Schenker looks a bit scrawny these days, but his playing is mesmerising.

Without a doubt the finest live album ever, prefer the original version to the newer one maybe just because I grew up with that one.
Not a rock fan but seen them a few times over the years, still a great live band today.

I rediscovered them a couple of years ago having lost touch a bit (I had a clear vinyl EP of their's back in the late 70s).
They're a great band and oddly overlooked from that era.

Mr Way is not very well, he is having chemo at present.

Met the band several times in the early 80's (Chapman era) and used to take a week off work and do the UK shows, Pete used to get Mr Knowles the tour manager to give us passes and we got to see several sound checks and a bit of free food.

Remember one year during the winter in Scotland driving from one gig to another we went via Braemar and jumped on a ski lift up some mountain in just our denims, god it was so cold up there in the snow and glad to get back down.

Many years later got to see the original line up with Mr V at Wolverhampton Civic where they recorded and released the live werewolves album and we were right at the front, the Walk on Water album was their best studio album.

I've just listened to it again now. Good, but I have to say for a hard rock live album All The World's a Stage is better.

For most of the 1980's (pre Madchester) i was Orthodox NWOBHM and this album manages to capture the moment of pretty much every decent gig (from any of the bands) i saw at that time.
It was mostly the Manchester Apollo in my case , but wherever you were ,if you were Metal back then you'll know what i mean.. The queuing, ticket touts, tour shirts, dark stage just before the band came on, the sickly sweet smell of Patchouli, warm lager in plastic cups, weed, embroided denim jackets, the dry ice , the performance and the subsequent temporary deafness...
I remember it all when i listen to this record smokin.

Awesome album.
Phenomenon is probably my favourite album of all time.
I saw UFO at Rock City in approx 80, but to be honest they were just going through the motions and the guitarist, Paul Chapman, I think was a let down.

I have just dug this out of my drawer.

Glasgow Apollo in my case, but alcohol was not on sale and heaven help you if you tried to smuggle it in. The bouncers would have taken it off you and happily chugged it down in front of you while playing football with your head. Allegedly. When I saw UFO they were supported by Riot (I think), who actually got an encore - a rare occurrence for a support band.
