As for the rest - pfft. Too hard for me, and I'm usually quite good at the Toad's quiz.
Yes, me too. The first bit, that is, not necessarily the second bit.

OK, so I've pitched this at the trickier end of the scale, but to see if we can get to the end, rather than try to provide oblique clues, I've just added some lyrics - 10 to go...

1. Focus, your mind will be strong, no distractions. Soak up wisdom all year long, and then take action

3. I can fly, but I want his wings. I can shine even in the darkness, but I crave the light that he brings

5. When I'm on my own, and out of my mind. I realize how I've grown, and changed my old line. Learning how to give and not be afraid, of the place where I live and mistakes I have made

8. I looked into your face, my heart was dancing all over the place. I'd like to change my point of view, if I could just forget about you

9. Don't look ahead, there's stormy weather, another roadblock in our way. But if we go, we go together, our hands are tied here if we stay

10. We love you, yeah. We love what you got and you've got it truly. You're talented kid, we can see it clearly

15. Do you see what I see? Why do we live like this? Is it because it's true, that ignorance is bliss?

16. There ain't nothing you could ask I could answer you but I won't. I was gonna change, but I’m not if you keep doing things I don’t

19. My heart is human, my blood is boiling, my brain IBM. So if you see me acting strangely, don't be surprised, I'm just a man who needed someone, and somewhere to hide

20.Too long trying to resist it, you've just gone and missed it. Its escaped your world

I reckon 8 and 16 would be classed as very famous or recognisable. A lot of people would have also heard nos 15 and 20. Nos 1,3 and 9 whilst not terribly popular would still have been heard by quite a few. 5 and 19 are left-field early 80s, and 10 would be a one-hit wonder from the early 90s

1. Tape Loop by Morcheeba.

It took some digging to pull that one out. Although I listen to the album not infrequently!

16.) is Think - Aretha Franklin.

20.) Muse?

All the easy ones had already gone. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. smile

Can't believe it was January since I last did one of these, lots of tough things have been going on in Toads world but things getting better now. Good work by the way. thumbup

Lovely jubbly - if someone can finish Toad's answer to no20 then we're down to the last 5. Here's a few more clues...

5. First, an apology - I thought this track was released as a single but it seems not. Anyway, it's from a 1982 album by a famous 70s prog rock outfit

9. Female artist, 2012

10. Indie group 1992

15. Female singer/songwriter, 2005

19. Famous US prog rock group, went to no1 in US in 1983

That might, or might not, help!

10) Daisy Chainsaw - We Love Your Money

The "We love you, yeah" set the tune off in my head, would never have got it from the originally posed quote.

Same for me, which is why I missed it out. I reckon this was the one that would be hardest to get - so well done!

The last bit of no20 is from their first album...

Working with the clues, 19 is Mr Roboto by Styx. I didn't search by the lyrics but checked the Billboard chart for likely offenders. Does that make me bad?

I honestly thought that was one of the easier ones when I put this together - seems like it's been used in loads of commercials or as backing music. Perhaps it just blends in a bit too well
