Trooper.

Trouper is from ABBA.

Anyway, I can't believe with all the petrolheads on here that nobody has posted about Track 6 from Airbournes' album Black Dog Barking. Live it up.

You get nearly a minute of full blast Merlins and Stukas before the guitars start. Live, they introduce it with an air-raid warning siren. Through the P.A.

To be played at 12. Sod 11, that's for wimps.

I quite like the intro to Rasputin by Boney M but it's spoilt by the slightly out of tune sounding bass stumbling into it.

+1 for AC/DC Thunderstruck
This performance at Donington sends shivers down my spine: http://vimeo.com/14544032

(As a drummer, I love the two bass drums mounted either side of his head!)

Surprised no Queen after 5 pages e.g.Seven Seas of Rye.

+1 for Voodoo Chile (slight return)
Queen bh, Starman and Station to Station - DB (though he's written so many stonking intros its hard not to pick 20

Re make - Re model - Roxy Music ( love the cocktail bar chit-chat crashed into by the start of the song. Then again every intro from the first album sessions is great)

yes

Legendary. It even beats the intro to Beethoven's 5th for note sparsity with just two notes.

Couple we haven't had:

Roxy Music - Street Life
Rush - Xanadu
Simple Minds - I Travel, Premonition

Somebody's mentioned Bowie's "Station To Station", but I'd like to chip in a mention for the live version.

Love the bell, thunder and rain combo. So much atmosphere.

My contribution is this, just love the gentle piano splitting to thundering riff age....
