Maybe so, however, not for one second do I believe that they all get clicked and looked at.

Ta! In complete contrast, I also like the way bass comes in during the opening to Our House by Madness...

That's a great song that had slipped off my radar. Must admit I love the jangly guitar more than the bass line.

Aside from the rather bizarre lyrics, that track never sounded like anything from the Human league. Best listened to as an instrumental, at which point it sounds utterly fantastic.

I didn't know Stevie Vai did the guitar on that track! Talk about embarrassed ...

Here's another good one, Marillion - Childhood's End.

Bass line throughout the song is utterly ace, and mixed to the point of utter perfection.

What a great thread!

Couldn't agree more about Bernard Edwards... truly amazing playing.
Surprised that there's not much James Jamerson - Darling Dear is quite an amazing bassline, as is Bernadette.

Some of my personal faves though:

I Shoulda Loved Ya - Michael Narada Warden (cheesetastic sax, too...)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txRXPviItwo

Keep the Customer Satisfied - Simon & Garfunkel
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qx6_0Do0qGQ

Twisted (everyday hurts) - Skunk Anansie
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcTM8h4d5E0

House of the Rising Sun - Lauren O'Connell (what an amazing sound, great use of an e-bow).
