I was just youtube hopping and came across these guys with their take on 2 AC/DC numbers, quite stunning IMO - together with a sense of humour

If there were any videos of them without the flashy multi-camera fast edits I'd be interested to see and hear them, but all their stuff appears to be from their own organisation and suggests it's more about the look than the music they are making.

Its a music video, they aren't exactly going to film it on their iphones.

I fear you have missed my point. I'm not talking about the cameras.

Don't fear, I fully understand. You think its a bit flash.

I'm guessing you have seen the size of the venues they play? They clearly have the financial backing to do a professional video, so why not?

I don't really see why having a professional video takes away from their music, most people would rather see something aesthetically interesting rather than just two blokes sat in front of a camera.

No, you don't fully understand, but that's my fault for not making myself sufficiently clear.

Now, if you had said "the videos are a bit flash, and nothing else" then you would have been closer.

But what I don't like about the 'live' videos listed next to the videos in the OP is that they've got plenty of cameras and they're going to f'ing well use them, and jump from one to the other so fast that the viewer barely has time to register the scene before it has changed.

Now I daresay the majority of their audience are ok with that, but it comes across as being a marketing exercise and nothing to do with actual music (not that such tactics are in any way unusual, I realise).

It wasn't really clear, I see now. I thought from your comments on their image being more important than the music, your issue was with the scale of the video and its production, rather than with the cinematography itself. Which is fair enough.

I'm guessing the people in charge of such things need to sex up the visuals due to the fact that, as much as they can headbang and wiggle their bows, the cello is a seated instrument, and therefore rather limiting when it comes to Van Halen esque jumping around!
