Peavey Vypyr VIP 3
Discussion
I know this sort of amp will not be to everyone's taste, however, I recently ordered one from Gear4Music at the discounted price of £229 (RRP £299). 2 days later they dropped the price to £169
I emailed them as I hadn't even received my order and got a prompt response to say that they would refund the difference to me (£71 total) as they 'didn't mean to deceive me'.
So, I am now the proud owner of a 100w Vypyr VIP 3 modelling amp for £169. A veritable bargain! (I already had the Sanpera II footpedal from my previous Vypyr amp and they both still work together great).
So if anyone is contemplating a new practice / modelling amp, they are, right now, superb value (the VIP 1 is only £85!!)

Still £229(edit - on the wrong website )
I was seriously considering a Fender Mustang 3, as my old man is getting given my Mustang 1. I really like the AC30 model on the fender, but the ability to plug a bass in sounds a decent idea.
Does this amp mostly model filthy amps, or is there a good variety of cleans?

Although having a few amps at my disposal I often plug my bass into my Mustang 1 for practice at home and when jamming with friends at living room volumes although the speaker becomes a bit farty at higher levels.
I have fitted it with an output jack that isolates the little internal speaker ( 8 ohm ) and when plugged into my 4x10 closed back quad box it becomes a whole different beast.
With a much better speaker setup and much more headroom I don't see why the Mustang 3 would have any shortcomings for bass use, or the Vyper for that matter.
