These are sometimes once in a lifetime events, why would you not want to listen?
I had rather thought the point of going was to be in a big crowd of like-minded people, watching distant figures on the stage or on the big screens.

These are surely the reasons why people go to such concerts, and they are the reasons why I don't. smile

Every artist that performed was turning the microphone towards the audience as a signal to join in
Which is how it should be, the artist in charge.
Who was it who famously told his audience to shut up during songs? I can't recall at the moment.

I did give it another go today to see if I was being unfair. Came to conclusion that actually I just don't like ELO that much.

Just switched onto this, midway through a track with a riff identical to Paul Weller's The Changingman. I guess Jeff Lynn did it first!

Jeff Lynne wrote a lot of music and played backing for a lot of other stars.

I'm pretty sure he sang backing with The Beatles on Free as a Bird

You Got it with Roy Orbison

Edit: bl00dy He'll just spotted Mrs Pagey and myself in a crowd shot!

Great gig, it reminds me of the Trevor Horn Prince's Trust thing with massed ranks of hugely talented session musicians. Needs more cello though. And lasers. And Bev Bevan, but mostly more cello.

Looks corking in HD though, I have to say.

Don't think he sang on it but he produced it for the boys in McCartney's studio.
