A bit of a khunt, a bit of an iconic muso in his day.

No matter how much of a khunt, cancer probably isn't pleasant - so wishing he gets better soon so we can get back to abusing him for his daft opinions on Argentina and the Royals...

I wish him well.

Whilst also noting that a largely celibate, vegan lifestyle can't be that good for you then...

I like his music but he's a total balloon.

However I wouldn't wish ill on him at all and hope he recovers fully.

Never been a fan of his politics or music but definitely a character, of which there are already too few these days.

I wish him all the best, it really is a hateful disease.

I wonder if he will be boycotting all the cancer treatments that were tested on animals?

If a ten ton truck kills the both of us, to die by your side etc... etc...

Morrisey is my hero, I'm pretty sure he's going to be ok though.

I was asking a vegan friend of mine about him the other week. Apparently he's "only" a vegetarian.

He polarises opinion like no other round here, but when it comes down to it, he has the soul of a poet & has written the greatest lyrics in British pop in a generation imo. I wish him well.
Really?

Sad news, liked The Smiths back in the day but not a massive fan. His output since then has left me cold and he does hold some rather strange views.

Get well soon you miserable git.

Yes & while that was at the dizzy heights of no 12 in October 1983, Billy Joel was at number one, rhyming:

As long as anyone with hot blood can/And now she's looking for a downtown man/That's what I am.

It's like Shake-fking-speare. I mean how could anyone possibly think Morrissey was poetic after the Joel man hits you?

Since you put "imho", its going to be impossible to convince you that your opinions are wrong!

But as previously said, his views on some subjects are, lets just say, polarizing:

That said, I would never wish cancer on anyone and I wish him a speedy recovery. Though I do wish he would shut the censored up....

Imo means more than anything that I'm not stating a a fact, but an opinion - right? So for clarity, it means I'm not in the business of insisting.

However, I confined my opinion to his music, yet in replying, you wish to drag his politics into a discussion in which I specifically avoided mentioning them. So, why are you doing that? It's the internet equivalent of an exasperated teacher scolding his slightly dim pupil for once again failing to read the question.

If you want to throw eggs at Morrissey's politics, go nuts, it's a free country, just don't try dragging me into it.

The kind people
Have a wonderful dream
Margaret on the guillotine
Cause people like you
Make me feel so tired
When will you die?
When will you die?
When will you die?
When will you die?
When will you die?

And people like you
Make me feel so old inside
Please die

And kind people
Do not shelter this dream
Make it real
Make the dream real
Make the dream real
Make it real
Make the dream real
Make it real

I’m a poet and you would know it
If I wasn’t locked in this closet,
Feeling sad about this world.

I mourn for the Malvinas,
And for the dying sailors
How could Thatcher do it?

(Sad synthetic strings, jangly guitars)

I long for the day the veterans
Can plant Gladioli on home soil
And raise the flag, righteously…

(Jangly guitars)

And little lambkins can play.

tempo rises, just a little bit.

In summary then, it's no argument on the point you yourself raised, other than an inexplicably distasteful desire to kick a man when he's down because you dislike his views.

The difference between us is I sincerely hope cancer never afflicts you & god forbid should it, no tosspot comes along to sneer at you.
