Can't say I like him or the Smiths, but would never wish an illness on anyone. 55 is no age. Wish him a speedy recovery

He doesn't half talk some b0llocks, but I have to say that he's been a mainstay in my life.

Feel very sad about this.

Appropriately enough, I'm miserable now.

I can't stand him, but it's a terrible thing to happen to anyone and as such I wish him a happy recovery.

Well I like his music and don't mind him.

As famous singers go he's not all bad. I have more poo to throw at people like Bono or any star that wears sunglasses indoors, apart from Slash.

He polarises opinion like no other round here, but when it comes down to it, he has the soul of a poet & has written the greatest lyrics in British pop in a generation imo. I wish him well.

according to this

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-29524...

he's had several "cancer-scrapings" whatever that means? Any medical people want to shed some light?

Only time I've ever heard that phrase was to remove pre-cancerous cells from the cervix.... I guess it works in other areas?

Might be for a melanoma primary tumor - but more normally a needle biopsy is utilized to make a diagnosis.

As you mature in life you appreciate just what an indiscriminate and vile disease cancer is. No one deserves it and I wish Morrissey well.

Pretentious tw@t.
Yes, he was an equal partner in one of the most influential bands of a generation. And you are?

Not quite old enough to be influenced by him, hence my reconsideration and subsequent delete.

Don't be hard on him. A lot of kids wanted to be in his gang back in the 70s. wink

Great artist or not, he really does come across as a bit of an idiot some times. But I hope he gets well soon so I can splutter with rage at everything he says for many years to come.

A bit of a khunt, a bit of an iconic muso in his day.

No matter how much of a khunt, cancer probably isn't pleasant - so wishing he gets better soon so we can get back to abusing him for his daft opinions on Argentina and the Royals...
