Paul McCartney!
He has his moments. Chaos and Creation in the Backyard in 2006 was an excellent album, the last one before that was Flaming Pie (1997). Everything since has been medicore though.

The main problem is at 74 years old his voice just isn't there anymore!

Deacon Blue, ste then ster now.

Don't forget though, these bands make a come back, or keep going for financial reasons.

Someone mentions Mel n Kim, as far as I know there's only one left.

The one that's still alive did some tasty pics for Mayfair mag a while back. Very respectable.

I gave Prodigy's Invaders Must Die another go. Heading the U2, Rolling Stones route of playing it safe, paint by numbers style of making music ie. make music like Curve that works in the festival circuit.

Saying that I'm a sucker for big beats and appreciating the samples used.

I liked Invaders Must Die, but then again I am too young to have really appreciated the early stuff when it was current (I liked firestarter when it came out, but I was 7). New album in the works apparently.

My favourite band as a late teen was Dream Theater. They should've have stopped after Octavarium though, would've been perfect.

Tool on the other hand desperately need to release more.

This is exactly what I hate about Radio 2. They seem to playlist any old act that have a new album out over new artists, but hardly any of it is any good! Most seem to lose their edge and creativity after a certain age.
Like Status-Quo. Who cares about them anymore?

Should have called it a day before they released their first album.

to be fair War and October were actually good - I guess it was just before boner realised he was more important than God

Me. Saw them recently with the old line-up and they were brilliant. No hits from the last 25 years - didn't even have a keyboard player.

But most of the recent stuff is shyte.

I can't believe people on here are disrespecting Stone Roses Second Coming. One of the best albums of all time in my opinion (certainly in my top ten)

Bands that should stop.

AC/DC - literally just phoning it in now.

Paul Heaton - Enough already, peaked with Carry on up the Charts.

On the flip side, I am still excited by the prospect of a new Pink Floyd album, even though I already know exactly what it will sound like.

Yes whenever I see him pop on question Time and the like, pontificating on everything in sight, I feel like chucking a brick at the telly. Bloody man should stick to what he's good at.

First, of course, he needs to find something he's good at.

I've liked PF since I was a teen (well, what I really mean is I like their albums from Dark Side to The Wall) but I think the latest single is utter bilge. It was a leftover from the Division Bell and it should've stayed that way.

I think the person referred to is as full of st as an overladen septic tank, but in my opinion he has written some truly outstanding songs.
