If you're saying what I think you're saying then, yes, Disco in the late 70s was undoubtedly the birth of "electronic dance music" with producers like Moroder

If you're saying what I think you're saying then, yes, Disco in the late 70s was undoubtedly the birth of "electronic dance music" with producers like Moroder
And then the world revolted against Disco, culminating in the great 'Disco Sucks' campaign and finally the 'Disco Demolition Night' on July 12th 1979, where tens of thousands of citizens smashed up their records in return for baseball tickets.

But of course Disco had the last laugh as bedroom Producers got their hands on drum machines and samplers, then electronically created 4/4 beats and laid Disco and soul samples over the top in the early 1980's and House Music was born...

I don't know about 'EDM' but if you like any kind of electronic music then John Hopkins is simply brilliant.
