Yep, it's rubbish. Pedalling the same old song out for the 4th time, with a load of people doing vocal gymnastics and mumbling to a point that you couldn't hear the lyrics.

I much prefer the idea of getting Paul McCartney's "Pipes of Peace" (with the original version of the Sainsbury's advert) to number 1 for Christmas smile

What a load of ste. And I just get the feeling that it's all a bit fake and performers are doing it to be part of the in thing.

The original was such a milestone, I think they should have left well alone and done something new.

This version is all a bit fake and polished.

Heard it this morning, not much good really is it. They played bits of the 4 different versions released, the original, a late 80s/early 90s one with Cliff and Kylie, the 2004 one with Robbie, The Darkness, Sugababes, and this one.

Personally, I like the original and the 2004 one as the best ones and the latest and 80s/90s one as, um, not the best hehe

Apparently the lot from the Glee TV show did a version too??!?

Bob Geldof is not aging well, is he? biggrin

He now looks like something out of a horror movie!

and under supported - when you look at all who turned up (and their standing in the industry compared to a lot of those on this one) compared to the original.

Hardly surprising, he'll have been taking styling hints from his new "friend" Sinead O'Connor.

This, completely. Aside from the fact that the organisers have applied a pitiful lack of originality rather then spend 10 minutes penning something else equally undemanding of its performers, the original was all about people starving to death, not dying from a virus.

They could at least have turned it into "Inoculate the world, let them know it's flu jab time again".

So why buy it? You'd be better off giving the money to the Red Cross, DEC or Oxfam

Agree, read that last night, it's about stars ego and being "seen to do something" rather than actually giving money

This

There are better ways to give to charity than them all self-fiving and patting themselves on the back for sacrificing their precious time....what a load of crap

I already do, but I bought it to help it go in at no.1 and further raise the profile of the situation and help put pressure on Western Governments to find a solution to the crisis.
