Faithless, August Clapham Common, celebrating 25 years! Epic dance tunes
Me too. High 5.

Erm... also

Madness, lets face it, they aint going to be around forever!
Electric Daisy Carival - forget the line up but there will be a few people on the list Ive yet to see. Tiesto headlining.
SW4 - mainly for Faithless, but again no doubt there are a few acts I've not caught yet.

Trying to encourage a friend to see Congo Natty with me.

Got tickets this morning for a family trip to see Florence + The Machine at the NIA (sorry, Genting Arena) on 19th September which I am very very pleased about biggrin 12 year old Princess Champers Junior's gig list will now consist of Queen and Adam Lambert, and Florence. Not bad for her first two concerts smile

Few more for me:

Mogwai Roundhouse
Victorious Festival Southsea
Peter Hook and the Light (doing New Order this time) Southampton
Editors (x2)
Sisters of Mercy Roundhouse

Quite excited by the Sisters gig as not seen them for literally decades.

Well having moaned earlier on this thread about only being able to get hugely overpriced tickets from Ticketmaster the Fleetwood Mac concert in Manchester tonight has been cancelled due to illness. I've been looking at recent Yt clips of the band and conclude 1. I've saved a considerable amount of money, and: 2. Dodged a bullet. For once I'm happy not to be going to a concert.

I think you've also saved yourself a lot of hassle. They were never performing there tonight, it was last night! Personally I was gutted it was cancelled. YT never does a live gig any favours.

Good point - I'd have gone on the wrong night anyway. laugh

I hear what you're saying about Yt but was actually shocked by what I saw/heard of their recent efforts. Sometimes a band can just go on for too long. But hey you have my sympathy missing out on the gig.

Ears are still ringing, but really enjoyed FNM at the Roundhouse last night. Good mix of old and new songs and a decent crowd. Patton's still got the vocal range too.

Coming up for me

4th July The Wonder Stuff in Holmfirth, 8th July Stereophonics in Sheffield, 9th July Johnny Marr in Wakefield, then in September Florence and the Machine in Sheffield and Manchester. November is The 1975 in Doncaster and then Weller in Leeds.

No wonder I've never got any spare money!

Sour grapes? They were very good at the IoW Festival last Sunday. Don't just take my word for it. Check the reviews.

For sure:

Bloodstock Open Air festival - Catton Park - August

Abbath + Primordial + Conan - The Forum, London - September

Probable:

Aurora Infernalis Festival (Arnhem) - October

Eindhoven Metal Meeting - December

Hopefully there will be a few more individual gigs to be announced soon, but glad to have a few more possibilities for the second half of the year.

I was referring to the actual meaning of the fable, rather than the popular misconception. You are telling yourself they would not have been good, so you have saved the money, whereas they actually were very good, as my experience and the reviews show.
