Bloodstock Open Air festival - Catton Park - August.
Absolutely brilliant line-up this year. If you get chance, pop into the New Blood tent and say hi - I am one of the 2 drum techs on that stage.

Only 4 more gigs this year ..... AC/DC is 2 weeks time, then Dave Gilmour, Bernie Torme, and finally Motley Crue bounce

Looking forward to Bernies gig as I'm a VIP guest bounce

I've also got 1 other gig - but no idea what. I've got a VIP pass to any gig at the O2, Hammy Odeon, etc, etc. But there's nothing coming up that's jumping out at me.

I think this year has been one of my worst for finding gigs I want to go and see, as you say, nothing catches the eye.

I have no idea whether this is ironic or whether there are death metal fans more serious than others who think the bands named by Animal are not sufficiently death metal. laugh

Oh yes, the 'secret' support band that can't be announced until after thay have played their set a Bloodstock smile

As for that meme, it makes no sense to me. Mostly, the bands mentioned in that & the gig are old-school 'original' death metal bands who influenced everything since. Presumably made by some slam kid who thinks death metal is someone pig squealing to a blast beat.
