- Strypes at Koko in Camden Town
Really good show - they've got a decent spread of material now to draw from, and they can really play - they properly rocked !!! Favourite song - Scum Bag CityAnd on the way out, the band came out to the stall selling T-shirts, so I managed to get them all to sign it for my daughter !! She was chuffed to say the least !!
Good thread.
This year been to:
Mariachi el Bronx, February, Newcastle.

Still to come:

Eagles of Death Metal, November, Manchester.
The Bronx, Manchester, December.

It shows recognition to the audience IMHO....
Walter Trout and his band always does this. I remember when they played The Point in Cardiff (2007 maybe or 2008) the whole band came out and chatted with everyone for at least an hour. There was one girl who had met Walter the year before and given him a demo CD. Not only did he remember her, he said he'd put her CD in his car and told her his favourite track by name, so he had definitely listened to it. He gave the girl his wife's number because she is the manager of the band and had some contacts etc. Nice guy Walter Trout.

It was a real shame what happened to The Point in Cardiff, as that was a great venue. I guess there's no hope of it ever reopening as a music venue now?Nick M said:

The Rezillos did this with albums when they supported the Stranglers in Manchester earlier this year, unfortunately they came out after their own set rather than after the main set. So having got there nice and early to get a decent spot, unfortunately I wasn't about to lose that to get a signed CD. At least Max Raptor (support a few years back) had the sense to wait until after the main gig was over.hoegaardenruls said:

Off to see some band called metric tonight as my brothers blagged tickets.
Not my usual cup of tea , I don't think they even use guitars!
I went with a mate to that gig last night. I had not heard any of their stuff before, but really enjoyed the gig and I thought they were a talented group of musicians. The support band were good too I thought. Not my usual cup of tea , I don't think they even use guitars!

Reminded me of a disco Florence and the machine.
On the plus point I found a Italian restaurant in the alley with the massage parlour behind the hippodrome, if you show them your 02 ticket they knock 10% off the bill.
Just got tickets for Massive Attack in Portsmouth 31 Jan 16, well chuffed although I know a bit early for the "Gig Plans 2016" thread.
Also got tickets this week for A Winged Victory for the Sullen at the Barbican in December to round off the run in to Christmas (Rockaway Beach Festival, Editors, Sisters of Mercy). Was tempted by New Order at Brixton but an excellent Peter Hook and the Light gig last Friday made me realise why I didn't really enjoy my last NO gig (without Hooky), think I'll pass on them.
Been a really good year gig wise.
