Excellent, as it pretty much always is. No Hugh Cornwell, but we're pretty much getting used to it now as he's been gone for longer than he was in the band. Also Jet Black doing just four tracks in venues where there's enough room for a second drum kit, with Jim McAulay doing the rest. Well worth going to see them, tour still on for a week and a bit, I'm going to Manchester on the 21st.

HIRAX show in Manchester last night. Been a fan since about 87 and this is the first time they've made it over to the UK. Went to Hammerfest in Wales at the weekend to see their first UK show and they were utterly briliant!

Last night's show was even better, smaller venue, even more energetic crowd making them play even more ferociously (but still tight as hell) and then they came out to drink with us all.

Great bunch of guys, really humble and still more than aware of their roots.

Stranglers, O2 Academy Manchester last night



A cracking gig, even better than the Liverpool one from a couple of weeks ago. A few changes to the set, Jet Black on again for four songs in the middle, supported by the Membranes and the Rezillos, both of whom were better than I expected them to be.
