I've now checked out:
Father John Misty - former member of Fleet Foxes. Not bad, and quite similar sound to Fleet Foxes, but nowhere near as good as them - very middle of the road.
Goat - weirdo psychedelic indie/alternative oddness. Not a fan.
Wolf Alice - see post above. Really quite good, if a little bit 'Radio 1' if you know what I mean.
Gregory Porter - listening now, cracking soulful jazz r'n'b singer. Seems I've missed the boat on this bloke, he's been around a while.

He is bound to have a rant about something, I actually liked his first couple of albums but I struggle to see past his personality. I also agree that the actual rapping sounds rubbish live, though this is sometimes overcome by the use of orchestras etc.
He can't have a 20 minute rant though, timings are strict at Glastonbury so he is just losing play time, and it would be hilarious if he started with one, and the field emptied and everyone buggered off to Shangri-La I watched Public Enemy at Glastonbury, think they are great but all the clever instrumentals got lost and the rapping was just shouting, probably way better in a smaller indoor venue but even so, I thought stick to the brilliant recordings

Where is a good place to start with George Clinton and friends? I've heard a couple of things of his before but not sure what to expect from them, would be interested in finding out if I'd enjoy seeing them.
I asked a similar thing at my wonderful local independent record store (remember them?) Soul Brother Records in Putney (support them at http://www.soulbrother.com)and they recommended the early Funkadelic albums, have a bit of Hendrix about them, a good place to start

I'll give those a listen, cheers.
Small world, yes I lived on the same street, Keswick Road, for 5 years, recently moved to Wandsworth but I still love living and working in London.
It's a great shop, always open always friendly, always wonder how it keeps going. Soul/jazz/funk not really my thing but I wanted to support the place so had a chat with the guy and asked him some advice on where to start, hence getting into Funkadelic and ownting a natty SB t shirt

I don't think they add each band one at a time, but there should be another announcement on 1st June according to Emily Eavis, so I guess there'll be an updated poster then.
This is interesting - http://www.efestivals.co.uk/news/15/150424b.shtml I still think the Sunday headliner will be Blur but no idea who the sub-headliner could be. Noel G could turn up with his band and have a guest appearance from his knob-head brother I suppose?
I'm happy enough with what's been announced so far, I just want the end of June to hurry up and get here now! I'm most looking forward to the full line up and stage times so I can start figuring out who to see - I love how at most festivals the full lineup might stretch to 3 or maybe 4 sides of A4. Last year I printed out the entire lineup for Glasto - over 80 pages of acts and events!

Roy Ayers Everybody Loves The Sunshine recorded at my old employer's studio Electric Lady in New York.Have you heard of Electric Lady Studios?
Kevin Ayers I've heard of, but not Roy.
Sunday night headliner is... The Who, subbed by Paul Weller.
Personally I'm very, very happy with that!

Paul Weller will be interesting, does he do Jam / Style Council stuff or only his solo work? With a new album at the end of the month he could be doing a lot of that
I've seen him a couple of times in the last few years and he's been nothing short of excellent on both occasions - his sets were mainly solo stuff, but with enough Jam and Style Council thrown in to keep people happy I think (I say 'I think' as I was ludicrously pissed at the last one). Last summer in Sherwood Forest was a cracking gig, he definitely did Shout to the Top, Start, Town Called Malice, Eton Rifles and probably a few other non-solo ones I've forgotten about as I got a little carried away with there being minimal restrictions on taking your own booze into the gig...
On his recent tour Weller hasn't played any of The Jam/TSC stuff, only his solo stuff. Personally think that's been like a breath of fresh air, got sick of hearing Town Called Malice.
Not sure if he'll roll out a greatest hits set for Glastonbury though, to keep the masses happy, although that's not Weller's usual style.

Saw him last year and he played loads of the back catalogue? Not sure if he'll roll out a greatest hits set for Glastonbury though, to keep the masses happy, although that's not Weller's usual style.
Open air @ Warwick Castle was a very very good gig actually..
