The Who? Oh fk why can't these dinosaurs bugger off and retire! One of the most overrated bands of all time IMHO.

Ah well, I quite like it when the final headliner is not for me (reckon Eavis chose this one or others let her down) as I can be watching someone else and avoiding the worst crowd of the weekend.

usual spreadsheet required to figure out where to be and when (usually covered in cider and lost day 1)

main challenges this year:

Alt-J and Future Islands clash
got to get from Caribou on West Holts to Jamie XX on Park stage in 0 minutes

3 weeks - can't wait

Surprised Pharrel isn't further up the bill.
eh? He is second from top behind Kanye (a much bigger music star), having one big song "happy" doesn't make you a headliner, most of his influence is as a producer IMO

Below Florence though.

Much more than just one song - Happy, Get Lucky, Good Girl, all the great stuff he did with NERD.
not knocking the guy, I like him

get lucky is daft punk in my book
exactly same billing as Florence but PH plays day after (some might consider that higher on bill, personally I don't consider days are preferable to another, apart from closing Sunday night)
Florence shifted 2, soon to be 3, platinum albums so much bigger act in UK at least

The festival bus station, nr pedestrian gate A.

Trouble is that there is a near constant flow of bus/coach arrivals on Fri and Sat and, in order to keep the bus station flowing, the general admission queues are often held waiting to clear the bus queue. So you may have got there quicker by car, but I will just flounce in with all the other buswankers and bag my favourite camping spot. Tortoise and the hare you see. smile
your tortoise bus will have to be bloody quick as:

a. I am driving down in a 997 turbo
b. I have a village car pass so will avoid all the traffic queue and drive direct to be my hired house
c. I am leaving on Thursday

laugh

Blur was my guess for Sunday night before The Who Cares were announced, so could see them doing it as they doing the circuit this summer.

Sort of hoping it will be someone crap like Ms Swift as it will be an easier decision to go and watch Jamie XX

Florence and the Machine apparently, not brilliant!
so who fills their slot, or is everyone just moving up one?

Florence and the Machine are in no way a headlining band.

That's a major disappointment they've been named. It was going to be a big ask to replace the Foo Fighters, but they've just gone the cheap and easy fix.
to be fair it is 9 days away - how many huge rock bands do you think are available on 9 days notice to shift themselves and their kit to Somerset? Most will have tours planned years in advance

I do appreciate it is very close, but I'm sure that something better could be sorted in 9 days. A lot of bands would jump at headlining Glastonbury, especially with the money involved.
money? Glastonbury pay a fraction of normal fees

Glastonbury Festival is not known for its financial largesse. With hundreds of bands performing, and a large portion of profits going to charities, Glastonbury has never been in a position to pay out the million pound fees offered by other more commercial festivals. “We get headliners for a tenth of their normal price,” Eavis has claimed. “They’re not being paid very much.” Paul McCartney appeared at Glastonbury in 2004 for £200,000, although his normal festival fee is rumoured to be £4 million. Coldplay received the same fee in 2011 – with the implication that the Stones are likely to receive the same.

Florence follows Lemmy?
Lemmy finishes 6.30pm
Flo starts 10.15pm

hence my post

Odd mix of bands. Hence mine.

Surely the FFs weren't going to be on stage for 6 hours?
Line up is always eclectic

It was - Motorhead / Flo / Foos
It is now - Mtorhead / bloody big gap / Flo

Considering the amount of people the Bbc have sent to Glastonbury and the money they've spent did you expect them to say anything else? It's hard to think of a worst headlining performance, thank goodness Sky Arts were showing Download highlights - I genuinely feel sorry for people who paid real money to watch that dirge tonight, the TV audience definitely had the better deal.
Don't feel sorry for us thanks, having a brilliant time as usual. Seen some great bands (none of the Pyramid headliners and won't be watching dull dinosaurs The Who tonight).

Maybe you should come one year rather than shouting at the TV - the choice of bands and other stuff to do is amazing. Also watching a BBC highlights show last night the sound seems crap compared to being here live

Another year, another great Glastonbury!

Great weather, great laughs and the usual mix of cider, funny sights, happy people, shangri-la craziness and 6am finishes.

Highlights for me were Jungle, Caribou, Lionel, Years & Years, alt-j, chemicals, some guys called Ghetto Funk Allstars at 1am somewhere in shangri-la and 2 Many DJs at Arcadia on Sunday night

Great value for money and yet again I didn't watch any pyramid headliners.

Only disappointment was missing Future Islands

Future islands were awesome .

What method have you used to get tickets? General sale, go on a list with loads of other people and whoever gets thru buys everyone elses tickets.
I am fortunate to have connections, so can always get tickets, and usually a couple of handy wristbands - backstage (handy for nice loos) and staff bar (much cheaper)

Depressingly our camp area (nr John Peel Stage) was hit with a load of tent thefts during the night, whilst people were sleeping. Two lone women in our group woke on Wednesday night to find a bloke in their tents shining a torch in their face ("sorry, wrong tent" ...yeah, right), and a couple behind us had 400 quid robbed from their tent during that first night. Light-fingered bds everywhere, not very 'Glastonbury'.
Scumbags, but who the hell a) leaves cash in a tent, or b) had that amount of cash at any one time, there are cash points on site
