Don't feel sorry for them. The ticket price included about a thousand alternatives to Kanye. I was in a tent the other side of the site watching Neville Staple and having an awesome time.
Must admit that after all climategate threads I never once had you down as a dub reggae fan.

I suppose your PH name could almost give it away, but I must admit having just watched a few of his youtube videos he's another one to watch... love it... that must have been UTTERLY superb at Glastonbury.

With due respect, try a bit of Lee Scratch Perry....

About 27 minutes in is some of my favourite stuff.

Here's another one with full band, how is this fella not headlining?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0TbNghStTA

I'm certain he'd do a Lionell Richie and rock the place.

A really hard one to call as I watched a lot of Kayne West (hated it) and thought to myself a dub reggae set would have been much better.

What a great weekend!

Initially I thought that there wasnt to much that I wanted to see but on closer inspection, there was.

Over the last 4 days, I saw 1 band play 3 times (Slaves), had some redhead(Florence) dancing next to me as I watched The Maccabees, sang along to every Smiths song sung by The Smyths, caught a bit of Adrian Sherwood working his magic, saw Buzzcocks play their debut gig at Glastonbury(as Phil Jupatus said to a stunned crowd).... Oh and I also attended a wedding of a couple who I'd never met, enjoying their hospitality - a biscuit and a thimble of wine.

No they weren't some hip young couple, but a couple in what some would call their twilight years.
A touching moment, with the groom shedding a year before saying "I do" and many in the crowd shedding a tear or 2.

I almost forgot to mention a couple of other highlights namely The Libertines and Suede! Here's hoping that I get a ticket again next year.

What I've seen so far of Glasto this year has been as inspiring as a party political broadcast but then it's probably my own fault for watching Florence against the machine: hipster wailing monotony; Hot Chip were okay but the Belgian beer had kicked in by then and kip beckoned. Seen Paloma Faith this evening and while you'd never find one of her music in my car I do find her hard to dislike as a person and she does at least put on a show. The Purple Haze cover was a brave shout!

Think my salvation lies in trawling through the website in the coming week or so though over the last few years my highlight has been the "oldies" slot on Sunday afternoon. Lionel Rich Tea this year? Dancing on the Ceiling should be fun; Hello less so, maybe.
Maybe you should stick to the oldies if you can't get the current band names right. rolleyes It's Florence AND the Machine, not against! I don't know, you old folk. They are still crap though.

Seen The Who but it just shows the state of the current music scene where they have to drag out an oldie band to headline a 2015 festival. But what else can they do when there isn't really any new big names coming through. Probably down to X Factor and The Voice nonsense singers dominating the current music scene. You can't exactly book that type of act as a festival headliner. It seems to have been the same old bands appearing at festivals for the last 15 years.

Seen Lionel Richie, his hits were quite good but some of his lesser known stuff not really my thing. I did watch Paul Weller on iplayer and a bit of the Super Furry Animals too.

Doesn't it just... A1.

I've been a few times, highlights were always way away from the main stage.

Stopping in a service station and begging for some black plastic bags from the lady behind the food counter and then nipping into the toilets to reskin over the leathers and inside the boots, and finally having ridden all night through horrific rain and wind to arrive in glorious sunshine.

Best ever was seeing Porno For Pyros behind the Pyramid stage, also, watching Blade Runner Director's Cut in the film field. (that was when I lost my ounce).

Also Mojo Nixon playing in the Acoustic Tent... hehe

I guess the hardest memory to deal with was watching Rolf Harris headline, at the time he did a Lionel Richie, it was just fking ace. Stole the show, worked the crowd it was just awesome.

This year seemed a little bit flat, I've said enough already about Mr. K West, however Glastonbury isn't just about the bands you see, it's about the whole trip. Getting there, getting home and everything in between.

Reading Rock Festival on the other hand was always about the music and I'll never forget being rolled on top of the crowd back and forth whilst The Pixies were headlining.

I can still remember dragging myself out of my tent at 8am to go and watch Nirvana open the festival, and then a year later watching them headline.

Having a mate on my shoulders for what seemed like the whole of the WonderStuff gig because I just didn't want him to miss a moment of it.

Now where were we, oh yeah. festivals...
You have to be there...

(Kane West was still utterly ste though)

I did Fri & Sat, had to be home early Sunday. Highlights were Super Furry Animals at The Park, Spiritualized, Suede and Frank Turner, also with Billy Bragg later on.

Depressingly our camp area (nr John Peel Stage) was hit with a load of tent thefts during the night, whilst people were sleeping. Two lone women in our group woke on Wednesday night to find a bloke in their tents shining a torch in their face ("sorry, wrong tent" ...yeah, right), and a couple behind us had 400 quid robbed from their tent during that first night. Light-fingered bds everywhere, not very 'Glastonbury'.

Just watched Motorhead on the iplayer. The lead guitarist that replaced Eddie Clarke ruined the show. Lemmy seemed fragile and lacking in energy and what he could have done with was a strong, driving, remorseless guitar lead to suit the nature, persona and image of the band. Instead he got some Welshman too pleased with his own voice and an exaggerated sense of his ability. They were a lot better three years ago in Manchester, but they were leagues better in 1978 in Manchester. All good things... .

I always get the impression that they are still enjoying it.
The looks between pete & Rog when one of them makes a mistake, there is still tension there & Pete is still an angry young man when playing.

The guitarist that replaced Fast Eddie left Motörhead over thirty years ago...

Much as it pains me to say, Phil Campbell isn't what is wrong with Motörhead, it's Lemmy that is letting the side down. He's looking every year of his age, and his health problems are well documented. Sad to see, but it is time to call it a day.

I enjoyed Motorhead but it was obvious that they were a shadow of their former selves. It's astonishing that Lemmy is even still alive so it's not that surprising that he's feeling his age a bit.

I saw Lee Scratch Perry at glasto a few years back, I think at the Glade. He was great. All the old school ska and reggae guys go down a storm at Glastonbury.

I almost think that the Sunday afternoon slot that Lionel had is better than the headliners these days.

Agreed, Lemmy's not good. His mind seems to ......wander. But when I saw them a few years ago the band was much more in sync with much less virtuoso rubbish from the lead guitarist and ttty small talk, so I'm going to stick with my opinion that the lead guitar is at least 50% to blame.
