Comfortly numb by the Floyd and for the end bit where the coffin goes or they close the curtains I have a CD with TVR engine noises, I have selected the start up of a V8 that is then roaring off.

'Swimwear' by Hey! Hello!.

The first line is "when my used and worn out body's done, I'll drop it off at the door and say that was fun".

Seems appropriate.

I'm not normally a country fan, but 'Prop me up beside the jukebox' has always been a personal favourite.

It's got to be "Ambition" by New Model Army - mostly because of this bit:

"And when she's gone forever, please don't lay her down to rest
In a quiet little churchyard along with all the rest
Throw a great big party to remember that she lived
Give her headlines on the TV to remember who she is"

The theme from Minder

Was a scene from a TV show called Roger Roger where the wife asked for the them from the Bodyguard and the trendy vicar got it wrong. He then proceeded to dance about the altar in trainers with lights in them

Show didn't last long but always remember this scene and me and dad in tears of laughter. If I did go before him I'm sure he would see the funny side, even if everybody else sat there wondering what the hell the silly old sod was laughing at!

When my Mum died 4 years ago we chose (amongst others) - R Kelly; If I could turn back the hands of time.

Still brings a tear to my eye whenever I hear it.

'That's just the way it is', Bruce Hornsby and The Range.

Fair comment, and I like the keyboard solo.

Not that I'll have a funeral anyway - medical science for me.

Consideration by Reef.

Start off with "I don't think that kindness is a weakness, I don't have a problem with compassion" then ends with a gospel choir-y type bit of "It's gonna be alright" over and over.

Nice last message to the family.

Ooh, I'm getting all teary...

Music going in: probably Pink Floyd - The Great Gig in the Sky

Exit music: tempted to have AC/DC - Highway to Hell, or possibly Motörhead - Burner if I get toasted. Whatever, nothing serious.

My uncle had 'Wait 'til You See my Smile' by Alicia Keys (I think). That was a nice choice.

No thought about it for my funeral. My brother however had "Fire" by Arthur Brown as he disappeared behind the curtains. Was making us laugh to the very end.

A friend of my sister whose husband died very young actually had "Living in a box" played at his funeral.
