The only tune I liked from the last album was Warriors Dance - it gives me a nice warm feeling, being 12 and hearing Charley.
Me too!

I don't like "Nasty". They just sound like a poor parody of themselves these days.

I think it doesn't sound like an album because it's spread over such a large time.
That doesn't necessarily make any difference to how an album should/could sound. It's their choice, obviously. I tend to prefer albums that flow and are cohesive.
Yes it does, making an album spread over such a long period will make it not flow no be cohesive.

Bit disappointed in what I've heard so far. Nasty is just a bit formulaic. And I could barely make it through "the day is my enemy" with that ultra annoying. warbling. over-repeated lyric. Shame - cos I thought IMD was good - OMEN reprise is one of my all time favourite pieces of music - just too short.

As my Prodigy-loving colleague said: it's just an entire album of the same mood. No ebb and flow. Just ANGRY.

Did anyone go to any of the live gigs? I went to the one in Bridlington and London. The Bridlington one gave me the opportunity to see what the drummer does live, he doesn't actually do anything. He just sits there whacking the hi hat continuously looking like he is doing something.... confused

So I investigated further and in an interview Liam says the snares and kick he can get himself from his setup is far superior to what the drummer could get out with his kit, so they just use the drummer for cymbal sounds...I can't be the only one thinking this is just retarded? Why not just get something like a TD30 and midi out the drum bits so you can actually have the drums live confused

You can watch Leo here https://youtu.be/wzJAMsYqYVc?t=1m30s , I mean really, for a band that claims to want to only play live, this seems odd.

Yes I saw them in Cardiff at the International arena, it's not massive at around 5000-6000 capacity.

I'd downloaded the EP that was released a few months before the album so I thought I'd have a slight clue as to what to expect but quite enjoyed the variety in the new album.

Has to be said that although some people prefer the smaller venues where you can easily get a good view the Prodigy experience is far better at the big festivals like where they had a good hour or more set an tens of thousands raving!

Seriously, are you sure? There is an ebb and flow to it from what i am hearing. Take Ibiza and Into The Deathray for instance. Complete difference in feel and pace. I reckon that was a throw away comment to be honest.

Their old live drummer 97(I think)-05 was much better and clearly of much more use after reading what you've just said.

Big Prodigy fan here. Ever since I picked up a tape where they played live at the Lees (still don't know where that is, but that's what it said on the cover!)

That was 91/92 ish? Until then I hadn't really found a type of music that really liked. Ive been a fan since.

While the new album is no Fat of the land or Jilted gen, its still good. Has some lows and highs, but overall its a good album.

Best album to come out for ages.

Prodigy Experience is probably my favourite album ever, every tune is phenomenal. Jilted Generation is good but guitars are creeping in, and as everyone knows music has no need for guitars. From FOTL and specifically Firestarter on, it all went to st. Moving from rave to festivals and crossover rock, meh.

But best of all without the Prodigy we wouldn't have https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxJNFmCWX0M

That is fantastic.

On point of Prodigy, you always seem to get people bemoaning bands that have been around for a long time changing style, but that's a good thing, no? Why would you want the same stuff? Newest album is an awesome listen to take the frustrations out of what 'music' is these days - stty pop and poncey dance.

Just watched their set set at T, they are brilliant performers. Reading 09 was the most high energy gig I've experienced, long may they continue.

Was a bit of a thing a couple of years ago. The original was acapella outside the jobcentre and it spawned a load of remixes. He ended up doing nightclub appearances, released a single etc.

Mental.

Most of it sounds awful.

Remember Baby's Got A Temper? It was so awful Liam scrapped the planned album realising The Prodigy was becoming a parody of itself and set to work on 'Outgunned.

A decade later and its full circle. It's basically a rehash of the Temper formula. Sadly.
