Fender jaguar style guitar?

I was going to suggest one of these new Squier Vintage Modified / Classic Vibe guitars as they get rave reviews:

But I am afraid I have no idea about the availability of left handed ones.
He did play a Strat occasionally, so there is always this:

Ive also seen the revelation jazzmaster which looks similar but i understand it would be tonally different to the jaguar.
Jaguars are great guitars, I have owned one since the'70s, They have a 24" scale which is good for those with small hands. Not many lefties. GAK have a KC leftie at well over 1000. Another Fender with the short scale is the Mustang, also associated with KC and unlike the Jaguar a double cut, so you could string it upside down a la Hendrix. GAK have Squire versions but seemingly only righties.
Just beware with a Jaguar that the pickups are not at all Stratty, they just do not produce a Strat like tone. They are powerful and very bright sounding. KC did not have standard pick-ups in his Jaguar.
You don't say how old your daughter is, but watch out for weight. Solid guitars are heavy, Jags are lighter than Strats, but you are unlikely to get a Strat at less than 8 pounds. Various makers do 3/4 sizes if size or weight is an issue. You can also shorten the scale on a Fender 25.5 guitar by tuning down a semi-tone and capoing at the first fret. The scale length is then pretty much 24" (but your position markers are out).

What sort of money are you looking to spend?
The idea of a jaguar was going nowhere unless I spent a shed load on a signature replica.
What i have managed to find is an ex display vintage V6 icon in road worn boulevard black at a vastly reduced price. The plan is to swap out the white pick guard for a black one and add a replica vandal sticker I found on ebay.
The end result will hopefully bear a passable resemblance to KCs vandalism strat. I'll post up a photo when its done.

I've attached a picture of my custom MJT guitars Jag. The body and neck were made/ painted and finished in Nitro in the US. The electrics and plates were done over here (it was cheaper to have the body/neck made in US than over here). They make some great guitars in a range of retro colours.

Ok, heres the replica of the vandalism strat based on a vintage v6 icon I did for my daughter. I swapped the pickguard to a 3 ply black one, changed the knobs and added the sticker. There are a few differences, this doesnt have a rosewood fret board and the body is a matt finish but she is over the moon with it. Its a pretty good quality guitar with wilkinson hardware throughout and has a lovely tone to it. I also got her a laney linebacker modelling amp so she even gets to sound like KC.

Cobain played mainly a jagstang - a jaguar and mustang hybrid thing. They're available as lefties but rare and not cheap. the squier versions of either the jaguar or mustang would be a good bet - personally I love the mustang though I own a fender thin skin jaguar...
As I understand it, although he did play the jagstangs that fender produced for him, he apparently hated them!The battered strat is the way forward, complete with bridge humbucker in some cases iirc.

Yes that’s another difference, the vintage is an s/s/s strat whereas cobains was an h/s/s. I could have got a cheapo westfield or squire bullet but I read some good reviews of the vintage so it was worth sacrificing some of the finer details.The battered strat is the way forward, complete with bridge humbucker in some cases iirc.
